University profile
Academy of the Police Force in Bratislava (hereinafter referred to as Academy of the PF) is a university type state institution which provides education mainly to the officers of the Police Force and other security services. The Academy of the Police Force was established by statutory measure No. 370 of the Slovak National Council Board of 15June, 1992.
The Academy of the PF started its activities by opening the academic year 1992/93 on the 1 October, 1992. The legal status of the Academy of the PF is specified in Act N.131/2002 Coll. on Universities, as amended.
The role of the Academy of the PF is to prepare qualified experts with a university title for departments of the Police Force, specialist departments of the Ministry of Interior of the Slovak Republic and other state and non-state security services. It provides lifelong training, develops scientific knowledge in the scientific and study specialisations, provides scientific education in the form of a doctoral programme, rigorous, habilitation and inauguration procedures.
