Urgent Medical Care
Graduates of the bachelor's degree programme in emergency health care will be employed in primary, secondary and follow-up health care as paramedics. After obtaining the specialisation, they will be employed in the performance of specialised activities.

- Completed secondary vocational education with a matriculation examination in the field of study paramedic and at least 1 year of professional experience in the rescue service (basic components of the integrated rescue system),
- a qualified general nurse who performs the activity of a paramedic with a minimum of 3 years' experience in permanent employment in the emergency medical services (ambulance, rescue service - not ARO and ICU),
- a qualified general nurse who performs the activity of a paramedic with a minimum of 3 years' experience in permanent employment in the emergency medical services (ambulance, rescue service - not ARO and ICU),
- a general nurse (not a medical assistant) who performs the activity of a paramedic with a minimum of 5 years' experience in permanent employment in an emergency medical service (ambulance, R.A.P. - not A.R.U. and ICU),
- filled in and signed application form with required attachments and refund of the paid entrance exam fee,
- acquired competence to practise the profession in the relevant field,
- work in the field of study at the time of registration and throughout the study. The employer's confirmation of employment must be attached to the application form.
- after fulfilling the conditions for admission in the external form of study, applicants will be admitted without entrance examinations,
Additional information
The Faculty of Health of the Slovak Medical University in Banská Bystrica reserves the right not to open bachelor study programmes in case of a lower number of applicants than the planned number.It also reserves the right not to open any of these study programmes for other serious reasons.

The application form must be accompanied by:
- matriculation certificate - photocopy certified by a notary or registry office,
- applicants for the external form of study, if they have a higher vocational education, shall also attach a certified copy of the diploma of completion of higher vocational studies,
- a brief curriculum vitae,
- a doctor's medical certificate - required on the application form,
- confirmation of experience in the relevant field of study to be attached only by applicants for the external form of study,
- applicants who are graduating this academic year will submit their high school leaving certificate (certified copy) on the day of the entrance exam, they will fill in the application form with the end of year grades for the 1st,2nd,3rd year of high school - grades must be confirmed by the high school,
- Applicants who have graduated in the previous period, fill in the application form with the final year grades of four years of secondary school, the secondary school does not have to confirm the grades,
- if an applicant wishes to apply for more than one program of study at the university, he/she must submit a separate application for each program of study separately and pay the application fee for each application separately.
- Only the candidate who submits a filled application form, attaches all the required enclosures and pays the fee within the stipulated deadline will be invited to the entrance exam.
