Mechanical engineering

The Bachelor’s study program Mechanical Engineering, which belongs to the field of study of Engineering, is created for a purpose to prepare students for the Master’s degree of university education, in which the predominant part of students continues. The structure of strong science, technical and foreign language basis gives the opportunity for successful continuation in Master’s degree study.

The graduate of Bachelor’s study program Mechanical Engineering understands the basics of Physics, Applied Mathematics, Mechanics and Theory of Materials, is able to solve constructional and technological problems of mechanical constructions as well as systems realization, has knowledge about the construction methods of particular parts or assemblies, manufacture technologies, operation and service of machineries. He is able to appreciate the quality of work and products and prepared for line manager in areas mentioned above.

The graduates can analyze the problems and possibilities, which open in different areas of mechanical engineering, design the parts of systems and the whole systems as well in such a way to fulfill the requirements, create these systems and implement theme in situ. They have to know to cooperate with managers, system users and specialists from other professions. Therefore during the study they obtain the knowledge about business, organizations and management. The graduates have also the knowledge about engineering systems theory and its application for constructional and technological problems.



Prospects of graduates

The Bachelor’s study program Mechanical Engineering, which belongs to the Engineering field of study, is primarily created for a purpose to prepare students for the Master’s degree of university education. It is ensured by the structure of strong science, technical and foreign language basis as well.

The quality of educational process guaranties the level of graduates and the correspondence of their knowledge, abilities and handiness level with their profile.

After accomplishment of bachelor study the graduates of Mechanical Engineering also can immediately employ in practice or search for their scope in various branches of industry in public or private sector, not only in machine companies but also in nearly all technical and industrial companies. They have a qualification to find successful scope in services and business.

Conditions of admission

<131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts, the basic condition for admission to the Bachelor's degree (first degree study programme) is the acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education. On the basis of §56 (2) of the Act, SJF TUKE determines other conditions for admission to study in individual study programmes.

No secondary school grades or doctor's certificates are required with the application form.
