Strojárske technológie a materiály

Characteristics

A graduate of the Engineering Technologies and Materials study program will acquire deep knowledge of materials, knowledge of the processes of conventional and progressive engineering technologies. He understands and knows how to evaluate and optimize technological processes and production procedures using innovative solutions and scientific methods. He is able to create simulation models and solve tasks using CAx technologies, design material solutions for specific structures and apply experimental and innovative methods of the field.

Learning Objectives

The doctoral student will learn to characterize and understand the laws of physical metallurgy, physics of materials and purposefully use the acquired knowledge when designing technological processes in science, research and practice. He will develop his knowledge mainly in the area of current methods of testing materials, evaluating their structures, predicting the properties of materials based on their internal structure, in the area of introducing modern technologies and optimizing production processes with regard to the quality and economy of production. The study will enable the doctoral student to acquire comprehensive theoretical knowledge, practical experience and master the methodologies of independent scientific work in the fields of engineering technologies. During his studies, he will acquire the skills and methods of scientific research associated with the field, which correspond to the current state of scientific knowledge, and through his own creative activity will contribute to the acquisition of new knowledge in this field. The graduate is capable of critical analysis, evaluation and synthesis of new complex concepts of engineering solutions. In the course of the first nominal year, the student acquires knowledge mainly of a theoretical nature, which builds on the knowledge of II. degree of study. He will acquire deep knowledge of the subjects of a broader scientific basis in the field of materials science and modern processing technologies, as well as advanced knowledge of the processes of conventional and progressive engineering technologies. Modeling and simulation of technological processes using CAx technologies, designing production processes and systems, assessing the technology and quality of products are also part of the theoretical preparation. In the next years of the study, the experimental, scientific and innovative methods of the field are applied in the solution of the dissertation. Part of the study is also the language preparation of the doctoral student with an emphasis on professional terminology in order to ensure the possibility of presenting the results of one's own research to the international scientific community as well as to the lay public.
