Prospects of graduates

Application of graduates in the economic study programme Management:

After completing the doctoral studies, i.e. the 3rd degree, graduates can be employed in universities and other scientific research institutes, and also in those top professional positions in the management of organizations in practice, where this highest degree of study along with personal prerequisites is required.

The graduate of this study programme is qualified to carry out research and cutting-edge professional activities in the areas of theory, research methodology in management, to create added value in theory and in practical applications in the field of management, its individual segments and areas.


The graduate will be prepared on the basis of the above-mentioned knowledge and abilities to carry out basic and applied research in a research team, especially grant research related to management and in its segments and areas. The basic skills of the graduate will include the prerequisites for presenting research results in high quality publications and conferences, also in English language. The graduate will have knowledge of the theory, methodology of research in management, selected applications, current world trends and the state of management (and its areas and segments). Also in the field of trends and state of management in theory and practice in the current European integration grouping.

Conditions of admission

C) Conditions for admission to study at the 3rd cycle of studies (doctoral studies)

The basic condition for admission to doctoral studies is the completion of a second cycle university degree (master's or engineering degree) and successful completion of an admission interview before a committee.

We recommend that you keep the information on the website permanently monitored for operational updates.

  • Full-time PhD candidates who will take the state final examination of the 2nd cycle of higher education (master's or engineering) in the academic year 2021/2022 shall apply for studies by 31. 05. 2022 and send by 01. 07. 2022 at the latest officially certified documents of successful completion of the 2nd cycle university studies (state examination certificate and diploma).
  • If the applicant fails to deliver all the above-mentioned documents related to admission to the study, he/she will be excluded from the admission procedure.






Additional information

A candidate may also submit multiple applications to the faculty. The application for studies must be duly and completely filled out and accompanied by the required annexes. Applicants shall pay the administrative fee for the admission procedure by bank transfer or postal money order, and proof of payment of the fee must be attached to the application form. The application form must be signed by the applicant in his/her own handwriting.



Conditions for international students

The following conditions apply to foreign applicants for doctoral studies:

  1. For foreign PhD applicants, all the conditions and information listed under "C" apply.
  2. The application must be accompanied by the following documents:

- officially translated and authenticated documents on the attainment of the 2nd degree of higher education,
- decision on the recognition of equivalence of educational documents issued by foreign schools (so-called nostrification),
- holders of educational documents issued in other countries (outside the Slovak Republic) are also required to:

-

- obtain a degree in the second degree of higher education

Apostille - for education documents issued in states that are parties to the Convention of 5 October 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Higher Attestation for Foreign Public Documents (the so-called Hague Convention),

Legalisation/super-legalization - for educational documents issued in States which are not party to the Hague Convention;

Self-employed persons are admitted on the basis of a contract - in accordance with applicable law.

General information on the admission exam

Method of admission to doctoral studies (PhD.):

Applicants for PhD studies will be admitted after fulfilling the conditions mentioned in the preceding paragraph, i.e., in the section "Conditions of Admission - C) Conditions of Admission to Studies at Level 3 (Doctoral Studies)", in the admission procedure on the basis of a board entrance examination on the basis of the statement of the Examination Board.

For the two doctoral programmes, 4 separate rankings will be established for the admission of the best candidates:

- separate ranking for applicants for full-time study in Slovak language for the study programme Management,
- separate ranking for applicants for full-time study in Slovak language for the study programme Management,
- separate ranking for applicants for full-time study in English language for the study programme Management,
- separate ranking for applicants for full-time study in English language for the study programme Management,
- separate ranking for applicants for full-time study in English language for the study programme Management,

The method of conducting the admission procedure for doctoral studies (PhD.) in English is the same as for other applicants for doctoral studies.
