Physioterapy

The graduate of the master's degree of the study programme physiotherapy can work as a physiotherapist in professional outpatient clinics, professional hospitals, spa facilities and rehabilitation institutes, as well as hospital facilities in physiotherapy and rehabilitation departments. After fulfilling the specified conditions, he/she may apply for a licence and work independently. The Master of Physiotherapy can also be employed in management positions or in scientific research and also teaching. The basic prerequisite for the employment of a Master of Physiotherapy is work focused on preventive and curative health care, the main task of which is the protection and promotion of health.

Conditions of admission

- successful completion of the first level of university studies in the field of study programme Physiotherapy,

- successful completion of the entrance examination,

- medical condition appropriate to the field of study.



Additional information

The Faculty of Health of the Slovak Medical University  in Banská Bystrica reserves the right not to open a Master's study programme in case of a lower number of applicants than the planned number.

The Faculty also reserves the right not to open any of these study programmes for other serious reasons.

General information on the admission exam

- documents of bachelor's degree completion - diploma, state exam certificate, diploma supplement (for SMU graduates the documents do not have to be certified, for graduates of other universities they need to be verified by a notary or a registry office),

- a doctor's certificate of medical fitness for university studies and the exercise of the profession in the chosen study programme,

- structured CV,

- the application form must be signed.

Tests

didactic test in the scope of professional subjects of the core curriculum of the bachelor's degree in the study programme of physiotherapy,

the test contains 120 questions, the time for preparation is 90 minutes.
