Regional Tourism
The regional tourism study programme is accredited in the field of study Economics and Management. Bachelor degree lasts for 3 years (organization of study is in 1st and 2nd year of study in semesters, the 3rd year in 3 trimesters) and it gives a professionally oriented model based on connection of learning theory with practical training with business in economy sphere. During the 3rd trimester, a three-month practical training is added to the previous study of theory. The goal of the study programme is the education of theoretically well-prepared and practically experienced professionals who will be able to adapt in the Slovak as well as the foreign labour market in the field of tourism. The unique feature of the study programme is the possibility of bilingual study in Slovak language and Hungarian language which is aimed to prepare experts in the multinational cross border Slovak and Hungarian regions. In the frame of the study programme we put emphasis on cross border cooperation and regional cohesion.
The content of the study is:
Systematic theory of tourism, management and marketing of tourism
Special subjects of tourism (hotel industry, gastronomy, sommelier training)
Economy and legal disciplines (economy, mathematics, statistics, economy of enterprise, finance, taxes, legislature in tourism)
Regional development of tourism (regional economy, regional tourism, cross border cooperation)
Foreign languages (English, German, one of the Central European languages – Hungarian, Czech, or Polish)
Graduate profile
Graduate of the study programme Regional tourism will gain during the study:
Knowledge in economy and law to provide services in tourism and business skills in the respective field.
Knowledge about natural and anthropogenic offering of the landscape and its exploitability in tourism.
Knowledge about social, cultural and geographic aspects of domestic and foreign tourism.
The ability to make products of tourism (packages of services).
The ability to prepare regional development programmes of tourism.
Knowledge about regional development and cross border cooperation.
Managerial skills.
ICT knowledge and its using in tourism.

Conditions for international students
- study programs at FSŠ UKF can be chosen by graduates of secondary schools from the Slovak Republic and abroad who have completed their secondary school studies with a school-leaving examination (or equivalent examination) and submit a valid document to that effect,
- the applicant fills in and sends the application for study in written and electronic form within the set deadline and successfully passes the entrance exams, resp. meets the conditions of the admission procedure for the chosen study program,
- the applicant submits a curriculum vitae and a receipt for the payment of the administrative fee,
- the condition for foreign applicants is the completion of language training, if they do not speak Slovak,
- the study is free of charge for nationals of the Slovak Republic, foreign students of Slovak nationality (compatriots) and nationals of the European Union,
- for other applicants from abroad, the conditions of study are determined by interstate agreements, resp. the study is held for a fee

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
The dean of the faculty may decide to waive the entrance examination or its part, taking into account the number of registered applicants and the results of studies at the secondary school as the basic criterion.
