Conditions of admission

1. Basic condition of admission to study according to Master study programmes (second level of university study in the sense of § 53 of the Act) is completion of the first level study programme.

2. Applicant is admitted to the Master study programme without an entrance exam, if the Master study programme is a continuation of a Bachelor study programme in the given study discipline and if the applicant performed a state exam from subjects that are equivalent to subjects of a state exam of a corresponding Bachelor study programme at the faculty and the weighted study average during the Bachelor studies didn't exceed 2.5.

3. If the conditions stated in the paragraph 2 are not fulfilled, the applicant may be admitted to the Master study programme on the basis of an entrance exam, which will test the qualification of the applicant. Written knowledge test will consist of subjects: history and theory of aesthetics, history, theory and aesthetics of chosen type of art, Ukrainian language, Ukrainian Literature.

4. On the proposal of the guarantor of the Master study programme, the dean may excuse the entrance exam for applicants, who didn't fulfill conditions according to paragraph 3 and who meet the basic criteria for admission according to paragraph 2, if the capacity of the faculty allows it.

5. The right to study a Master study programme has also such applicant, who completed a Bachelor study programme in given or related study discipline at another faculty or university.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

1. Basic condition of admission to study according to Master study programmes (second level of university study in the sense of § 53 of the Act) is completion of the first level study programme. "

General information on the admission exam

an applicant may submit max. two study applications form to FoA of UP with stating one study programme on one application form;

applicants should pay the fee using money order type U, payment slip should be pasted on the 3rd page of the application;

applications without a proof of payment won't be accepted;

basic information needed for a cross-border transfer from a foreign country through the SWIFT network: Swift address of the bank: SUBASKBX, account number of the payee, or account number of the State treasury's client in the IBAN format: SK 87 8180  0000 0070  0007  8205; name of the bank: State treasury, Ul.  Radlinského  32,  010  05 Bratislava 15; unabbreviated name and address of the payee, client of the State treasury: Faculty of Arts of the University in Prešov, Ul. 17. novembra 1, Prešov, 080 78, purpose of payment: fee VS 101000401.

study applicants will thoroughly fill out the first and the second page of application and give the application to a doctor who will confirmation of health ability for university study (expressed in words, doctor's signature and stamp is not sufficient);

applicants, who didn't complete their Bachelor studies at FoA of UP will attach a CV and verified photocopies of study documents (university diploma, state exam certificate, diploma supplement) to the application form. Not officially verified photocopies won't be admitted.

applicants with limited ability to work will attach an assessment issued by an examination committee;

study application may be sent also by such applicant, who did not perform a Bachelor state exam for given type of study and therefore is not able to state required information in the application. Such applicant will submit a certificate of completion of such exam additionally, at the latest by the deadline specified by the faculty. If the applicant won't submit this certificate, he won't be admitted to the study.

in the case that the number of applicants signing up for a study programme is lower than the required minimal number for given study programme (i.e. at least 15), the dean may decide on non-opening of the programme for the academic year, which he will announce to the applicants and ask them to change their study programme. In the case that an applicant won't accept this offer, the faculty will return the entrance proceeding fee in full.

The Faculty of Arts during the admission procedure follows the internal regulation "Rules of admission procedure of the Faculty of Arts of University of Prešov in Prešov", which was issued by the Academic senate of the Faculty of arts in Prešov on September 16, 2009.
