Teacher Training in Physical Education

Prospects of graduates

Bachelor's degree graduate of the study programme Teacher of physical education:

obtains education for the performance of professional activity in the category of pedagogical assistant with the possibility of employment at the second level of primary school and in secondary school,
is eligible to continue further studies at master's level,
may obtain the professional qualification to perform the professional activity of a coach of the 1st qualification level of the respective sport specialisation and an instructor of sport for all of the 1st qualification level.

Conditions of admission

completion of upper-secondary education or upper-secondary vocational education,

medical certificate issued by a sports physician on the applicant's medical fitness to study a programme of study in the field of physical education (not older than 6 months from the date of the entrance examinations; the applicant must submit the certificate from the physiotherapist no later than 3 days before the date of the entrance examinations),

successful completion of the entrance examination in physical prerequisites.

Conditions for international students

completion of upper-secondary education or upper-secondary vocational education,

In the case of foreign applicants, who have not passed or will not pass the matriculation examination in the subject of Slovak language and literature:

submission of a certificate of proficiency in Slovak as a foreign/second language at the level of at least B2 issued by language schools registered by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Slovak Republic in the Network of Schools and Educational Institutions of the Slovak Republic (registered state language schools and private language schools) or
verification of linguistic competence to study a bachelor study programme in Slovak language (written expression and reading literacy are assessed).

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

Participants in the Olympic Games, World Championships or European Championships in the two calendar years preceding the entrance examinations may be admitted without entrance examinations on presentation of a document certified by the relevant sports federation.

General information on the admission exam

Movement aptitude entrance exam.

The candidate will complete the following disciplines:

endurance (multi-stage) boat race over a distance of 20 m,
long jump from a standing position,
100 m swimming crawl or breaststroke,
gymnastics,
choice of one of four sports games (basketball, soccer, handball, volleyball).
