The graduate has a deep theoretical knowledge of the fundamental factors and processes of socialization and education, the cultural context of anthropogenesis and its psychological interpretations. He/she is familiar with the content of general education and the content of the disciplines of his/her specialisation, the principles of its structure, the methodology of the production of the content of the discipline and its broader cultural and social contexts. He/she is able to handle this content as a product of human (scientific) activity, and in this context he/she is able to project it for didactic intentions and purposes. Has adequate knowledge of the organisation and management of education, as well as of research methods in the field of pedagogy. In addition to mastering teaching competence (designing, implementing and reflecting on classroom teaching), he is able to participate in the development of methodological materials for teaching. He or she also has an adequate knowledge of the didactics of his or her field.
The graduate has theoretical knowledge of contemporary models of cognitive socialisation and education, knows the content, methodology and epistemology of the disciplines of his/her subject specialisation, the theoretical and practical contexts of subject didactics with the use of modern communication technologies in the subjects of his/her specialisation, on the basis of which he/she independently designs and implements teaching at the level of lower and upper secondary education, is able to adapt educational programmes in relevant disciplines to the specific conditions of pupils, school class and school type, is able to effectively support the development of pupils' information literacy, analyse and assess alternative secondary education programmes and is able to effectively communicate pedagogical and disciplinary knowledge to the wider environment of the lay and professional community. Graduates are proficient in the production of methodological texts with wider applicability, e-learning and the legal, economic and ethical aspects of working in their field.

A graduate is eligible to be a teacher of subjects belonging to his/her specialisation.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

For study programmes where no entrance examination is held, the waiting list of admitted applicants will be drawn up on the basis of the documented results of studies at the 1st cycle of higher education. Relatedness of the study programme will also be taken into account.


Admitted applicants will be enrolled in Master's degree programmes upon submission of a notarised copy of their Bachelor's diploma and birth certificate. The only exceptions are graduates who have completed their Bachelor's studies at the University of Economics in Nitra in the year of applying for the Master's programme at the University of Economics in Nitra. They do not submit certified photocopies of their diploma and birth certificate (uncertified copies of these are sufficient).
