Faculty profile
Since its establishment in 1993, the Faculty of Arts at Constantine the Philosopher University in Nitra has established itself as a modern educational, scientific and artistic research institution. Today, it represents a mature and respected educational institution in Europe.
The mission of the faculty is to develop education, science, morality, art and culture in the spirit of national, universal, human and democratic traditions. The Faculty of Arts provides preparation of experts in several fields of science, culture, media and art. It educates employees of state and public administration and those in the social sphere, while it also prepares teachers for the second level of primary schools and secondary schools.
Study programs are closely related to scientific research and artistic activities of departments and other specialized institutes throughout Europe. The Faculty provides education at all three levels of university studies: bachelor, master and doctorate. Flexibility is guaranteed through a wide choice of study programs and their specialized obligatory or elective lectures and seminars. Students can apply for fellowships at foreign universities and exchange programs.
The attractiveness of studying at the Faculty is shown by the high number of students in full-time, or part-time study programs, and a constant stream of new applicants. Besides Slovak students, dozens of foreign citizens study at the Faculty to fulfill their own interests and ideas about social involvement.
The scientific-research activities of employees and students are closely related to the key educational objectives of faculty. Research topics cover a wide range of humanities and social sciences in the fields of basic and applied research and innovative teaching methods. The latest findings from research in cultural and educational projects lead to organizing scientific events and publishing of scholarly works.
In implementing its mission, the Faculty cooperates with many educational, cultural and scientific institutions in the Slovak Republic (Ludovit Stur Institute of Linguistics, Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS), Jan Stanislav Institute of Slavistics SAS, Institute of Slovak Literature SAS, Institute of World Literature SAS, Institute of History SAS, Institute of Archeology SAS, Institute of Political Sciences SAS, Institute of Ethnology SAS, Institute of musicology, National Institute for Education and others).
But just as intensively, it promotes cooperation and exchange of information and students with international organizations. The Faculty cooperates with many European education and research institutions in the framework of the Erasmus +, CEEPUS, International Visegrad Fund and other European grant schemes, thanks to which the Faculty has the opportunity to participate in mobility of students, graduates, teachers and researchers; project and research cooperation, dissemination of knowledge and experience . In addition to these programs, the Faculty also develops cooperation with non-EU or non-EU member states on the basis of bilateral agreements on cooperation with institutions in North and South America and Central Asia.

Accommodation and boarding
Accomodation
Student Dormitory UKF Nitra (Dormitory NITRA) is UKF facility for accommodating its students, staff, international teachers and guests. Dormitory NITRA is situated only 5 minutes by walk from the university rectorate building and very close to the centre of the town and to the exhibition area Agrokomplex.
Student Dormitory ZOBOR (Dormitory ZOBOR) is UKF facility for accommodating its students, staff, international teachers and guests. Dormitory ZOBOR is situated near the Faculty of Education and University Library not very far from the centre of the town.
Boarding
There is a university canteen in Dormitory NITRA and in Dormitory ZOBOR serving lunches to students and staff as well as buffet for purchase of some food stuff. Canteen is able to prepare refreshments for reasonable price.
Other services
International Relations Office (IRO) represents the key element in coordinating and developing of international cooperation of UKF as a whole and its promotion towards the external international public. IRO cooperates with faculty level (with Vice-deans for international relations, faculty and departmental Erasmus coordinators) depending on the given tasks. In cooperation with student organisation - ESN UKF section, IRO constantly improves conditions for stay of international students and staff.
The University Library is a scientific, information, bibliographic, coordinating and advisory center to support the teaching and research processes at the University. The library and information services are provided to teachers and scientists, doctoral students, students of all forms of study and other professionals.
