Music art
MUSIC ARTS TEACHING (single subject with a focus on: organ playing, piano playing and solo singing ) Graduates are able to work effectively in their place of work and also be able to work in a team environment. He/she should be able to pursue continuous lifelong learning. The graduate has the prerequisites for further improvement of his/her qualifications at the second level of higher education. He/she has a general understanding of the musical arts and appropriate skills in playing the chosen musical instrument (organ/piano) or in solo singing and in music education, while understanding the broader context of education and training. Gain an overview of historical and contemporary forms of musical art. The student will acquire a practical basis in creative practices and methods for the performance of a musical work. In his/her profile, he/she integrates the knowledge and skills into the knowledge resulting from the degree programme: interpersonal, teamwork-related, creative and practical, critical reflection. The graduate has the opportunity to apply as a teacher in primary art education, as a teacher of music education in primary education, as a worker in cultural institutions, in amateur music ensembles and other organizational activities in the field of music.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

acquisition of complete secondary education or complete secondary vocational education (§56, par. 1 of the Higher Education Act);

respect for the Catholic spirit of the university and the faculty;

for the teacher education, art education, music education and music arts programs, successful completion of a talent examination is required (see Talent Examinations section);

for the study programme Special Education and Education of the Mentally Handicapped, successful completion of an entrance interview is required (see section Admission Interviews);

other study programmes - without an entrance examination and without a talent examination.
The ranking of applicants will be based on the following rules:

The average value of the grades in the subjects of the matriculation examination will be calculated for the applicant. That value shall be multiplied by the coefficient of the secondary school from which the applicant has graduated:
coefficient 1 for a grammar school,
coefficient 2 for a vocational secondary school,
coefficient 3 for a vocational secondary school with a matriculation diploma.

In the case of study programmes where passing the talent test is a condition (music education teacher, music art teacher, art education teacher), passing the admission interview (special education and education of the mentally handicapped), the ranking of applicants will be made after adding the points for the talent test or the admission interview.
The resulting value determines the applicant's position in the ranking.
If a greater number of applicants meet the admission requirements for a given study programme, those applicants who have demonstrated the highest level of aptitude for the study according to the admission requirements will be admitted.

INFORMATION ABOUT THE ADMISSIONS PROCESS:
If an applicant wishes to apply for more than one study programme, he/she must apply for each programme separately.
The application form must be accompanied by:

a curriculum vitae;

a certified copy of the matriculation certificate;

an applicant for the study programme Teacher Education in the combination of: biology, geography, chemistry, computer science, mathematics or computer science single-subject, shall also provide a certified copy of the secondary school certificate of the last year of study,

proof of payment of the fee. Without proof of payment, the application will not be registered. The admission fee is non-refundable!;

The applicant for the study programme Preschool and Elementary Education shall also submit a medical certificate of the ability to take physical education without limitations and a certificate from a speech therapy examination on correct pronunciation and the absence of any kind of impaired communication skills;

The applicant for the study programme Physical Education Teaching shall also submit a medical certificate of the medical ability to take physical education without limitations;

applicants for the study programme Special Education and Education of the Mentally Handicapped shall submit a confirmation from a speech therapy examination of correct pronunciation and absence of any kind of impaired communication ability;

Confirmation of application registration and information about the further process in the admission procedure will be sent to applicants in writing. In case of a small number of applicants for the study of teaching in one of the subject combinations, the faculty will propose applicants to study in other combinations.

The admissions process in Special Education and Education of the Developmentally Disabled focuses on the applicant's general overview, seriousness and also depth of interest in the study of Special Education. During the admission interview, the applicant's level of content and formal communication with the committee members will also be monitored, with an emphasis on spoken language. If the applicant has extracurricular activities in the sense of volunteering, personal assistance and helping a person with a disability, he/she can submit the certificates/proofs to the committee for inspection.

Talent examination in Music Education or Music Art consists of a practical part and an interview with the candidate. The skills and knowledge required are at least at the level of a graduate of a primary school.
Talent examination for applicants to the School of Musical Arts (DOUBLE DEGREE) consists of three individually assessed individual performances (organ/piano: singing, intonation and rhythm, performance in the chosen specialisation; solo singing: intonation and rhythm, performance in solo singing, playing the piano or another musical instrument), supplemented by an examination in music education in the form of a written test

The Talent Examination in Art Education consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. Students demonstrate theoretical knowledge on the Art History exam, which focuses on historical or contemporary issues in art. The practical exam consists of active creative work, which is realized from the surface art disciplines and from the spatial art disciplines. The student carries out the practical examination on a topic and in a technique that is announced at the time of the entrance examination. The practical examination includes a presentation of the candidate's portfolio in intermedia, design and craft, surface art disciplines and spatial art disciplines.
