Food technology
The graduate is prepared for independent creative scientific activity and related activities in the field of agri-food research, development and education. He masters the latest scientific methods of research, development, technological processes of food production and the possibility of wider use of agricultural products and materials. The graduate will therefore have a reasonable disposition to apply in the job market in Europe and the world. The graduate scientifically researches, recognizes and finds his own solutions to problems in the field of agri-food - optimization of the production of raw materials, food, utilization of by-products. The graduate's theoretical knowledge is based on a biological basis, supplemented and deepened by new knowledge of applied biology and chemistry, microbiology and especially special food technologies. The graduate will gain knowledge in the field to which the scientific problem solved by the dissertation belongs. Masters the principles of scientific work, formulation of problems and methods of solution. Knowledge has a direct link to research - development - production of raw materials, food, processing of by-products. He masters the legal and environmental contexts and properties of the solved problems and has the ability to independently present the results of his work.
Prospects of graduates
The graduate of the doctoral study programme Food Technology scientifically researches, recognizes and brings his own solutions to problems in the field of agri-food, related to the optimization of raw material and food production, utilization of by-products (waste-free technologies). He masters new knowledge of applied chemistry, physics, microbiology, special food technologies. He will learn the principles of scientific work, formulation of problems and methods of solution, masters the issues of research, development and production of raw materials and food, processing of by-products, legal and environmental contexts and aspects of the problems. He is able to independently present the results of his work (publishing and pedagogical activity). The graduate will be employed in scientific research and educational work at the university (assistant professors) with the possibility of further professional growth, in independent research work at research institutes of agri-food focus and in manufacturing companies and consulting firms in the Slovak Republic and abroad.

1. Passing master degree of study program in the same or related field of study.
2. At the entrance examination, the candidate shows the required knowledge:
• from the area of the chosen field of the study and programme in the form of a professional oral exam related to the topic of the dissertation thesis (max. 50 points),
• from the world language, while applicants are required to have an advanced level of knowledge of the world language, in the form of a written test (max. 40 points).
3. When recruiting candidates, additional activities will also be taken into account, which are:
- the study average during the second stage of study at the university (max. 20 points for the study average 1.0 and for each increase of the study average by every tenth, 2 points are deducted),
- the level of scientific and professional publishing activities or the solution of important social tasks by which the applicant has contributed to the progressive development in the given area (max. 10 points).
Scoring of the entrance exam: professional part max. 80 points, language exam max. 40 points.
4. Applicants for part-time of the study are recommended to work in the field, respectively in a related field.
5. Waiting list of prospective students will be prepared on the basis of the points in each area. The point limit for admission to study will be set by the admissions committee on the basis of the possibilities of financing doctoral student scholarships at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the SUA in Nitra.
6. The fee for the admission process is EUR 38 (electronic application form).
7. The date of the entrance examination will be published on www.fbp.uniag.sk no later than 2 months before the last day set for the submission of applications.
8. The professional tests referred to in point 2 may also be performed using distance methods and communication systems electronically (online). Applicants will be informed of the method of testing by 22 June 2020.

- the employer's consent to study for or of applicants for a part-time form of the study;
- framework project on the topic of the dissertation thesis (max. 2 A4);
- a statement of the results of master's, engineering, doctoral studies in individual years and the study-wide average issued by the study department; in the case of FBFS graduates, this confirmation is not required
