Characteristics

The graduate of the Bachelor's degree programme in Business Management and Economics has knowledge and skills in the field of business economics, business management and engineering technology. He/she can identify and solve operational problems arising in enterprises. Applies appropriate software in modelling and optimising processes. Can work as an independent professional in many business units, and can work as a manager and coordinator at lower and middle management levels.

Learning objectives

The graduate of the bachelor's study programme Management and Economics of Enterprise will acquire knowledge in the field of technical and natural science disciplines, focusing on the issues of management and economics of enterprises, production and information technologies and business process management. In the course of studies, the student acquires the skills to use software applications oriented towards information support of business management, designing, modelling and simulation of business processes. The student is prepared to use basic managerial and economic tools and methods and selected methods of industrial engineering in practice.

Learning Outcomes

The graduate of the Bachelor's degree programme in Business Management and Economics has a very good factual, conceptual and procedural knowledge of the basic engineering and science disciplines, business management and economics, engineering technology and design. Understands current concepts relevant to the field of study of engineering with a focus on the context of the technical and economic aspects of the enterprise. Has the ability to acquire and interpret technical data and information in the field of engineering technology and design, business management and economics, and can solve basic problems and present, discuss and defend their solutions. He/she is able to solve the assigned tasks in the context of the engineering and at the same time the economic context, which follows from the structure of the courses. The student has the ability to apply knowledge and standard methods in the field of engineering technology and design, management and business economics in economic practice. Can communicate and cooperate in teams and lead small working groups. The student is able to use software oriented towards economic calculations, information support for business management and cooperation, technological calculations, design, modelling and simulation of business processes and systems. Has technical skills in technical creativity, computer graphics and programming. Has the skills to work independently and solve common problems of economic practice. Can use soft skills (communication, teamwork, presentation) applicable to lower management positions. Possesses the ability to communicate actively (both written and verbal) in the English language. The graduate has the knowledge and skills to continue to the second cycle of higher education.
