Knowledge in the scope of grammar-school curriculum and the ability to use this knowledge in problem-solving is a requirement for entrance exams for the Bachelor level studies. Applicants interested in studying informatics are expected to know the basics of a programming language. Knowledge of at least one of the world languages is welcome. Applicants interested in studying economic and financial mathematics are expected to have good English language skills (some lectures are given in English).
An applicant can apply for a maximum of three study programmes in one application form. The applicants who indicate more than one study programme in their application will be allowed to take entrance exams in all of the subjects which come into consideration for the study programmes selected. If an applicant meets the conditions for acceptance to more than one study programme, she or he will be accepted to the programme applied for with the highest priority. We recommend to use this possibility to indicate alternative study programmes in second and third positions. These programmes will not influence the acceptance to the programme indicated with a higher priority and can be useful as an alternative solution especially for prominent study programmes. For teaching studies, the applicant indicated the double-major combination of qualification subjects (e.g. mathematics and physics).
The Faculty will send instructions for admission procedure to the registered applicants no later than 30 days before the entrance exam. If an applicant cannot take part in the entrance exam in the regular term due to a collision with an entrance exam to another faculty, she or he can request a change of the exam's date no later than June 1st 2010. If the applicant has indicated more than one study programme in the application, the applicant will take an exam in all subjects which come into consideration for the given programmes. If the applicant has met the conditions for acceptance to more than one study programme, she or he will be accepted to the programme indicated with the highest priority. The entrance exam in Biology as well as the practical exam in Physical Education will be held in cooperation with other Faculties of the Comenius University (Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Physical Education and Sports and Faculty of Natural Sciences). The date of the practical (talent) exam in physical education will be specified by the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports of the Comenius University.
