Computer Aided Manufacturing Technologies
The study branch Manufacturing Technologies that conforms to the internationally classified study branch "Manufacturing Engineering" prepares in individual study programmes Bachelors and Engineers with the newest knowledge from the area of the current progressive and perspective manufacturing technologies, their automation and computer aid, manufacturing and integrated management, manufacturing technologies in consumer industry and ready-made manufacturing technologies. The graduates are able to fulfil tasks related to efficiency increase of company operation, react to the changing requirements of customers, to the delivery of products and services with improved quality and lower price in the competitive environment, are able to provide for manufacturing in small and medium enterprises, with its implementation on different types of conventional and unconventional equipments. The graduate is equipped with topical knowledge from field of management based on which they gain the ability to perceive the company not only as a production element but as a business subject of market economy with emphasis on manufacturing management. They gain the ability to solve the issue of communication with people, management of work teams, as well as broad practical knowledge from the operation of manufacturing technologies. At the end of the study the knowledge of graduates is extended by the knowledge within study programme profilation, based on which they can find their application on the labour market as technologists, programmers of manufacturing technology, employees of CAD/CAM departments, private entrepreneurs in the field of power engineering, heat and cooling engineering, in the field of projecting and operation of machines and equipments for the consumer industry, as company environmentalists, maintenance managers, tribotechnicians, safety technicians, fire protection technicians, power-supply Engineers, employees of waste management, employees of civil protection, etc.

The application must also contains the confirmation of health ability for university study in the selected study programme. Foreign applicants are admitted according to the admission procedure of TUKE and upon inter-governmental agreements. Self-payers are admitted upon a contract. The study programme shall opened in case of a minimum number of 20 registered applicants, in case of a lower number of registered applicants they shall be offered study in a related study programme.
After completion of the 3-year Bachelor study the graduates will have the possibility to continue in a 2-year study of the respective accredited engineer study programmes
Additional information
the complete application form may be sent by post to the address of the dean's office of the faculty, or delivered in person; the application shall contain the main study programme and the substitution study programme that the applicant accepts in case the first study programme is not opened due to low interest.
the faculty shall confirm reception of the application and send information on the selection procedure to the applicants
applicants will be admitted based on their study results at secondary school including the leaving exam, results of the leaving exam from Mathematics or Physics, type of secondary school and type of leaving exam type A or B.
the fee shall be paid by money order type "U" to the following address: FVT TU, Bayerova 1, Prešov, financial institution: State Treasury SR Bratislava, account number 7000151468/8180, the slip must be pasted on the second page of the application (next to the marks), and the CV of the applicant must be enclosed to the application.
the original or copies of the school reports for years 1 to 3 of the secondary school must be enclosed to the application form (in case that the applicant has already passed the leaving exam, it is also necessary to enclose the school report from the fourth year and the original or verified copy of the school leaving certificate), the school reports will be returned to the applicants after checking
the original of the school leaving certificate (its officially verified copy) and the school report from the fourth year (copy) must be sent or deliver in person to the dean's office of the faculty immediately after the leaving exam (by 16 June 2007 the latest)
in case of personal delivery of the secondary school reports and of the school leaving certificate to the dean's office of the faculty it is enough to produce the original copies for inspection and they will be returned after checking while one waits

The students are accommodated according to the Technical University of Košice in the Halls of residence in Prešov. In the academic year 2006/07 all students with their permanent address outside Prešov were accommodated. The boarding of students is provided in the student canteens. Internet access is available in the specialised study rooms at the faculty, as well as in the accommodation premises of the Hall of residence (directly in the rooms). Students can spend their free time in the premises of the faculty V-club and in the playgrounds of the faculty.
Selected students of the faculty may attend a part of the study abroad (e.g. in Germany, Poland, Italy, etc.) through the international projects SOCRATES and CEEPUS that the faculty is involved in and also through bilateral agreements between the faculty and universities, or their faculties abroad.
