Pilot
The study is aimed at training university-educated professional pilots for positions in airlines for which the degree is required. The study content is based on the qualification requirements newly established for the EU countries and laid down in the regulations for the competence of civil aviation pilots. The theoretical and general subjects, which are concentrated in the first year, are followed in the next two years by special subjects defined by the European regulations of EASA. The aim of the university studies is not only to provide the graduate with a comprehensive undergraduate education in the field, but also to prepare him/her for the ATPL theoretical examinations, the passing of which is a prerequisite for the issuance of a civil aircraft pilot licence by the Transport Authority of the Slovak Republic. The theoretical study is organised in such a way that the student has the opportunity to undergo practical flight training in selected flight schools during the course of his/her studies. The study is completed by a state examination combined with the defence of the bachelor thesis.
Qualification readiness and degree of professional adaptability to the conditions and requirements of practice:
The graduate is prepared to perform the activity of a professional pilot in accordance with the European Aviation Regulations, which entitles him/her to be a professional pilot after passing specific examinations according to the obtained licence. A student who fails or is unable to complete the training in its entirety during his studies may apply to the Transport Authority for a theoretical knowledge test and a practical test for the acquisition of a licence of a different level in the context of his employment.
The student shall be entitled to apply for a theoretical knowledge test and a practical test for the acquisition of a licence of a different level in the context of his employment.
