Structural and Transport Engineering
A graduate of the engineering study program in Structural and Transportation Engineering (ŠP NKDS) will acquire the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to deepen and expand their basic and specialized theoretical preparation for the design, construction, and operation of load-bearing structures in civil engineering and buildings made of concrete, steel, wood, and other construction materials, transportation structures, as well as solving geotechnical problems. Emphasis is placed on ensuring that the graduate gains the necessary knowledge for the theoretical analysis of engineering and civil structures, enabling them to design safe, functional, durable, and aesthetic constructions while making the best use of computational technology. An important part of the comprehensive preparation is the development of independence and creativity, so that the graduate, after appropriate practice, can manage a team of workers, lead large projects independently, and take responsibility for their complex technical solutions. An integral part of the graduate profile in the Structural and Transportation Engineering program also includes experimental and diagnostic work, as well as methods and procedures for evaluating the collected data.
