Structural and Transportation Engineering

The graduate of engineering studies in the study programme load-bearing structures and transport structures (SP NKDS) will acquire the knowledge, skills and competences necessary to deepen and expand the basic and specialized theoretical preparation for designing, constructing and operating load-bearing structures of civil engineering structures and ground structures made of concrete, steel, wood and other building materials, transport structures, as well as for solving geotechnical problems. Emphasis is placed on providing the graduate with the necessary knowledge for the theoretical analysis of civil engineering structures and civil engineering structures, enabling him/her to design safe, usable, durable and aesthetic structures with the widest possible use of computer technology. An important part of the comprehensive training is the development of independence and creativity, so that the graduate, after adequate practice, can manage a team of workers, can independently lead even large projects and can take responsibility for their complex technical solutions. Experimental and diagnostic work as well as methods and procedures for evaluating the data obtained are also an integral part of the graduate profile of the study programme in load-bearing structures and transport structures.
