Conditions of admission

The faculty requires a doctor's confirmation of health ability for university study and for performance of a profession. Applications without doctor's confirmation won't be accepted.  Applicants with limited ability to work will attach an assessment issued by an examination committee. Conditions for admission of international students are the same as for Slovak citizens.

General information on the admission exam

Basic condition of admission to the study of unified 1st and 2nd level of study programme (in the sense of § 53 paragraph 3 of the Act no. 131/2002 Law Coll. on universities and change and amendment of certain Acts) is high school education completed by the leaving exam.     

Applicants are submitting an application to a chosen study programme to the address of the faculty. It's required to attach a structured CV, verified copy of the high school leaving certificate, photocopies of year-end school reports, or in some cases a last half-year certificate from the high school and a recommendation from a local priest.     

An applicant, who had not yet performed the leaving exam and therefore cannot state the required information, will submit a certificate of its completion additionally (immediately after its completion) at the latest on the date specified by the faculty. Applicant can't be admitted without providing this document. 

Money order slip proving the payment of fee related to assurance the admission   procedure must be pasted on the third page of the application (the fee should be paid using money order type U; applications without the proof of payment of fee won't be accepted). Further information regarding the admission procedure will be published on the faculty website, and will be also sent to applicants at least one month before the entrance exams.     

Applicants, who wish to prepare for priestly ministry, should send a handwritten request along with the study application through the relevant parish office to the address of relevant episcopal office. In addition to the request for admission to seminary and university application, it's necessary to attach the baptism certificate, birth certificate, marriage certificate of parents from the parish office, verified copy of the leaving certificate or university diploma, doctor's confirmation of health ability for stay in the seminary, 2x detailed CV (with information on family circumstances, parents and their employment, personal hobbies, medical condition, work motivation, etc.), statement regarding suitability of applicant from a local priest, or a parish administrator. Relevant episcopal office will invite the applicants for interviews regarding admission to the seminary, a part of which is also a psychological test and a medical examination.         

Further information regarding the admission procedure will be published on the faculty website, and will be also sent to applicants at least one month before the entrance exams.

oral exam:

the subject of the interview with an applicant is to discover his motivation and personal qualifications for study in the chosen study programme, or for formation in the seminary.
