Informatics
Informatics is a study programme which directly responds to the demand and supply of today´s market. The students will gain not only the theoretical knowledge, necessary for understanding of priciples for designing of electronic devices, processing of signals and programming, but they also have the opportunity to verify that knowledge and skills in the practise. The students can support their area of interest by the choice of selective courses, so they can gain a deeper knowledge for a particular problem solving - starting from robots design, smart device applications,...to desing of complex systems for management of processes. Students of Informatics have the opportunity to gain widely recognized certificates such as CISCO CCNA, CompTIA+,..., to attend different internships and mobilities or to participate in various competitions.
Prospects of graduates
In the Bachelor study programme Informatics, the faculty provides complete university education of the first level in the area of informatics, based on obtaining a wide range of theoretical knowledge in mathematics, enabling understanding of broader relations of the scientific field, as well as in various areas of informatics, such as computer and communication networks and software and information systems. The graduate is ready to either continue in Engineer study, or after its completion in Doctoral study, or to enter into practical professional life, where he can find employment as analyst, planner, technical designer, system designer, and specialist. He has prospects in various areas of informatics itself as well as in all areas of information systems application and information technology in social and economic practice.

The key admission requirement for bachelor studies (of any study program of the first level) is to fully complete secondary education or secondary vocational education. (in accordance with the Higher Education Act 131/2002).
All foreign applicants or those students who have studied aboard must have completed their secondary education equivalent to A-level secondary studies in Slovakia. They need to submit A-level Certificate in the application form, or to bring it for the registration day together with the nostrification.
Additional information
The applicants who are interested in more than one study programme will specify their priority of the programmes in the application form and will only pay the application fee once. After passing their entrance exams successfully they will be admitted to the programme of which they have met the admission criteria.
Conditions for international students
The same admission requirements are valid for foreign applicants. They pay the annual tuition fee according to the Higher Education Act, paragraph 92, sec. 8 and the internal UNIZA guidlines. The applicants are required to score at least B1 level in a Slovak language test. The test needs to be arranged with the Institue of Lifelong Learning of UNIZA. If the applicant had successfully completed the language test organized by the Institute of Lifelong Learning in past, the results will be recognized.
Foreign students, who are studying in Slovak language, don´t pay the annual tuiton fee. The applicants from Czech republic can use the application form valid in their country. Those foreign applicants admitted according to the bilateral international treaties or on a national scholarship programme, need to follow condtions stated in the relevant documents.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Students will be admitted without taking entrance exam if:
- they took part in an external part of A-level Mathematics or NPS tests (SCIO) in Maths and scored 60 percent and above,
- they took part in NPS tests (SCIO) in general knowledge and scored 70 percet and above,
- they are the leavers of Grammar Schools, and have achieved an arithmetic mean in their last but one year of study ≤ 1,70,
- they are the leavers of Vocational Schools and Academies and have achieved an arithmetic mean in their last but one year of study ≤ 1,50,
- they obtained the official trade certificate of level CCNA and above,
- They participated successfully in specialized educational courses organised by the Faculty of Management Science and Informatics and have achieved an arithmetic mean in their last but one year of study ≤ 2,0,
- they participated successfully in the Secondary School Olympiads (in Maths, Physics, Informatics, Young Accountant), SOČ (Secondary Schools Specialized Competition) in 02 – Mathematics, Physics, 11 – Informatics, 12 – Electroengineering and hardware, 15 – Economics a Management) or national and international competitions (NAG or NetRiders - UNI, PT, FIRST® LEGO® League, ZENIT: Category A and B: Programming, Web, Mikroelectronics) and participated in a regional or national round.
The applicants need to meet one of the above mentioned criteria to be admitted without entrance exam.

The applicants who do not meet those criteria will be required to take the entrance exams. The exams will consist of a written Mathematics test and Thinking Skills Assessment, to the extent of Grammar School. They will be admitted according to the score they will have gained till we fulfill the capacity of the study programmes.
Form of entrance exam
After the application deadline the faculty will send an invitation for the entrance exams to the applicants with all the details about the entrance exams, including the unique identification code of an applicant and a room number for taking the test. The applicants will take part in a written test from Maths and Thinking Skills with the allocated time of 120 mins. The tests will be scanned, automatically evaluated and interim results will be published on our website http://vzdelavanie. uniza.sk/prijimacky/.
