Geotourism
The Geotourism study program will provide graduates with a specific professional profile, with comprehensive, high-quality knowledge, for mastering a multidisciplinary approach, with prerequisites for successfully mastering the effective development and management of geotourism and mining tourism, i.e. identification, characterization, evaluation, interpretation, presentation and promotion of geological, mining and related cultural-historical heritage for the purpose of sustainable development of tourism with the possibility of employment as a qualified manager in many functional departments of management in the state or private sphere, or work as a specialist in specialized departments (working independently or as a member of a wider team), such as e.g. geoparks, management of protected areas (national parks and protected landscape areas) or companies providing services in the tourism industry. The cross-sectional nature of geotourism does not exclude the employment of graduates in other branches of industry, including the economic and social sphere.
Prospects of graduates
Graduates of the second degree of the study program Geotourism within the field of study Acquisition and processing of earth resources can analyze, propose, construct, ensure and maintain large-scale solutions in the field of identification, acquisition and processing of earth resources while respecting legislative and environmental aspects; maintain the structure of financial investment in the field of land resources; to analyze and value earth's resources from different perspectives according to the desired purpose and, based on the value, to create concepts for their optimal use. They are able to perform these activities with a high degree of creativity and independence. The emphasis is on the graduate, depending on the profile, to acquire deep knowledge in the field of earth resources, their technical, informational, economic, managerial, production and logistic support and their use for geotourism and mountain tourism. The acquired knowledge will enable him to manage teams of workers in this area, independently lead even large projects and take responsibility for complex solutions. In order for the graduate to be able to identify and manage work related to the study program and the field, students must gain experience in formulating problems, creating models, designing, implementing and evaluating geological, geotourism and mountain objects, verifying the hypotheses of their use, analyzing and interpreting the obtained data. The graduate can develop a whole range of applications in the field of use and protection of geotourism and mountain tourism objects.
