Prospects of graduates

By graduating from the Bachelor's study programme French Language for Economic Practice, 1st degree (in the field of study Philology) the graduate will obtain a qualification corresponding to level 6 of education according to the Slovak Qualification Framework (SKKR). This qualification is awarded after successful completion of Level 1 of higher education in both professionally and academically oriented bachelor's degree programmes. Proof of the qualification is a university diploma, a state examination certificate and a supplement to the diploma.

Conditions of admission

Students are preferentially selected for study on the basis of the following criteria: academic average achieved during their studies at secondary school



Additional information

a) A candidate may submit multiple applications for studies at the Faculty of Arts PU, indicating one study programme on one application form;

b) Applicants shall pay the fee by bank transfer or postal money order U, the proof of payment shall be pasted on the 3rd page of the application form;

c) Applications without proof of fee payment will not be accepted;

d) Basic data required to make a cross-border transfer from abroad via SWIFT network: swift address of the bank: SPSRSKBA, account number of the payee or account number of the SP client in the format SK87 8180 0000 0070 0007 8205; name of the bank: State Treasury, ul. Radlinského 32, 010 05 Bratislava 15; unabbreviated name and address of the payee, the client of the SP. 17. novembra 1, 080 78 Prešov, purpose of payment: fee VS 10100041;

e) Candidates studying at the Faculty of Arts PU or graduates of bachelor studies at the Faculty of Arts PU do not fill in the statement of results of bachelor studies in individual semesters and do not submit a confirmation of the correctness of the data. A structured curriculum vitae shall be attached to the application form;

f) Applicants who have not completed their bachelor studies at the PU Faculty of Physical Education shall fill in the first and second pages of the application form thoroughly;

g) Applicants who have not completed their bachelor's studies at the PU Faculty of Physical Education shall submit a structured curriculum vitae and certified photocopies of documents certifying completion of studies (university diploma, state examination certificate, diploma supplement) with their application form. Officially uncertified photocopies will not be accepted;

h) Applicants who are completing their bachelor studies at a faculty other than the PU Faculty of Arts in 2025 shall attach to the application form a statement of the results of bachelor studies in individual semesters issued by the study department of the university (stamp and signature of the study department of the school/faculty);

i) Applicants for studies with specific needs: 1. Before applying for studies, they shall contact the faculty (or, in the case of university departments, the university) coordinator in order to receive advice on the choice of the field of study and the scope of support services at PU; 2. provide the faculty (or, in the case of university departments, the university) coordinator with sufficient information about their limitations and needs, 3. contact the faculty coordinator well in advance (usually 1 month before the entrance examination) to ensure adequate conditions for the entrance examination. j) Candidates shall submit a medical certificate of medical fitness as part of the application form, which is available on the faculty's website;

k) The application for studies may also be submitted by an applicant who has not yet passed the Bachelor's State Examination for the type of study and cannot provide relevant data on the passing of the examination in the application form. Such an applicant shall submit proof of having passed this examination subsequently, at the latest by the deadline set by the faculty. If the applicant fails to submit this document, he/she may not be admitted to the study;

l) In the event that fewer candidates apply for a study programme than the minimum number set for that study programme, the dean may decide not to open the programme for a given academic year. The dean shall notify the applicants of this fact and invite them to change their study programme. If the applicant does not accept the offer, the faculty will refund the full admission fee;

m) The Faculty of Arts follows the internal regulation Principles of the Admission Procedure of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prešov, which was issued by the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Arts in Prešov on 16 September 2009.



Conditions for international students

Conditions of admission for foreign applicants for studies in Slovak language in case they have not completed their previous education in the Slovak Republic or the Czech Republic):

The condition of admission to the study is the submission of a document of recognition of the equivalence of educational documents (nostrification).

An applicant for a bachelor's degree is considered to be a foreign applicant who has completed secondary school studies outside the territory of the Slovak Republic.

The following conditions apply to foreign applicants for bachelor studies in the Slovak language:

The basic condition for admission to the first cycle of studies at the Faculty of Arts is a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education completed by the matriculation examination. Another condition for admission of applicants to the first cycle of studies in the Slovak language of study is the demonstration of linguistic competence to study in this language.

The method of conducting the admission procedure for bachelor's studies is the same for all applicants for bachelor's studies. Accordingly, the specific conditions for the admission of foreign applicants to the bachelor's programme are as follows:

1. The application form must be submitted fully completed including attachments by the specified deadline on the prescribed form and must be signed by the applicant.

3. The application form must be accompanied by the following documents:

  • officially translated and certified secondary school certificates. For the last year of secondary education, officially translated and certified secondary school certificates for the first semester of studies must be provided,
  • statement on equivalence of secondary school studies issued by the Ministry of Education, Science Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic - i.e. transfer of the matriculation examination marks to the Slovak evaluation system (Ukrainian applicants do not document equivalence),
  • decision on recognition of equivalence of educational documents (so-called nostrification) issued by the competent District Education Office (in Slovakia) https://www.minv.sk/?uznavanie-dokladov-o-vzdelani-1.
  • CV in Slovak language,
  • proof of payment of the fee for material support for the admission procedure.

Study applicants who have studied at a foreign secondary school shall deliver the Decision on recognition of the equivalence of the document of education, or the Certificate on the equivalence of the document of education issued by the foreign school, the so-called nostrification of the matriculation certificate, no later than on the day of enrolment.

The condition for the admission of foreigners to study is the demonstration of the necessary competence in the same way as in the case of applicants - citizens of the Slovak Republic.
