Commercial Entrepreneurship

Graduates of the study programme Commercial Entrepreneurship in the field of study economics and management are prepared to successfully perform the full range of professional tasks related to the activities of the enterprise, preparation and practical implementation of the basic business functions of the enterprise. The allocation of foreign direct investment not only in the manufacturing sector, but also in the trade sector and in the service sector, creates the potential for graduates to be employed in national and international environment. Graduates can be able to analyse business-economic problems as well as to propose possibilities of using business opportunities within different types of business operations, to present them to relevant stakeholders or the professional public. Based on the knowledge of the economics of the business entity and the environment in which it operates, they can propose solutions for the optimal functioning of the business entity and implement them. The graduates have knowledge of ways of communication and cooperation with managers and specialists of other professions. They use knowledge and expertise in macroeconomics and microeconomics, management, accounting, business economics, mathematics as well as statistics. The graduates can be able to communicate professionally in two foreign languages, have knowledge of information and communication technologies and can navigate relevant legislation. They are prepared to work effectively as a team leader; to organise the work of subordinate entities as well as their own professional and career development.

Prospects of graduates

Conditions of admission
Information on the conditions for admission to the first-level of study is published on the website https://euba.sk/en/applicant.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
The following applicant is exempt from the obligation to take the entrance examination:
a) applicant for study at PHF EU in Košice who in academic years 2021/2022 – 2024/2025 attended the national level of a specialist or economics-related competition held nationwide for secondary school students on or before April 30, 2025, for study programmes conducted in the Slovak language, and on or before March 15, 2025, for study programmes conducted in the English language: Economic Olympiad, Young Accountant Olympiad, or Mathematical Olympiad;
b) applicant for study at PHF EU in Košice who in academic years 2021/2022 – 2024/2025 attended the national level of the all-Slovak competition Business Manager Olympiad, for secondary school students held by PHF EU in Košice on or before April 30, 2025, for study programmes conducted in the Slovak language, and on or before March 15, 2025, for study programmes conducted in the English language;
c) applicant for study at PHF EU in Košice who in academic years 2021/2022 – 2024/2025 attended the national level of a nationwide competition for secondary school students having at least three promotion levels, if such competition was held by any of the faculties of the EU in Bratislava on or before April 30, 2025, for study programmes conducted in the Slovak language, and on or before March 15, 2025, for study programmes conducted in the English language;
d) applicant for study programmes conducted in the Slovak language at PHF EU in Košice who takes the General Academic Prerequisites test (or the Czech version thereof) and also a foreign language test, which tests can be taken as part of the National Comparative Exams provided by Scio in the academic year 2024/2025. The applicant with a percentile score of 60 and higher from each test will be accepted for study;
e) applicant for the study programme Business Economics and Management in English (Educational Unit in Michalovce) and study programme Commercial Entrepreneurship in English (Košice) who takes the General Academic Prerequisites test in English and also the English language test, which tests can be taken as part of the National Comparative Exams provided by Scio in the academic year 2024/2025. The applicant with a percentile score of 60 and higher from each test will be accepted for study.

National Comparative Exams tests can be taken during the academic year 2024/2025 in various cities in Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Ukraine. The tests can also be taken more than once; the best test result attained will be considered for the applicant. The applicant must take the test no later than May 1, 2025, and for study programmes in the English language, no later than March 15, 2025.

An applicant who meets the exemption condition for taking the entrance examination according to point a, b, or c above, is required to submit a request to the Dean of the faculty and documentation proving participation in these nationwide rounds of olympiads/competitions. The request and relevant documentation must be sent by email to the Study Department of PHF EU in Košice no later than April 30, 2025, for study programmes in Slovak, and by March 15, 2025, for study programmes in English.

Notice:
The EU in Bratislava accepts the electronic application, which will be created in the Academic Information System (AiS2) of the EU in Bratislava. The electronic application with user manual on how to fill it up in the AiS2 information system is published on the website: https://euba.sk/en/applicant.
The fee for the admission procedure can be paid exclusively by bank transfer (not by postal order). A transfer order for payment in a bank is not accepted as a proof of payment of the fee for the admission procedure. A statement from a bank account or confirmation of payment or confirmation of completed payment from internet banking can be accepted.
