Prospects of graduates

Graduates are able to analyze and solve ethical problems on the basis of the acquired theoretical foundations of history of ethics and philosophy, the background knowledge of the disciplines of general and applied ethics. They can rightly identify the place of ethical-human values in human life and make decisions on moral conflicts occurring in everyday practical life. They have a basic knowledge of psychology, sociology, theory of culture and communication technologies. They know major schools of thought in contemporary theoretical, philosophical and applied ethics. Graduates are able to cooperate with managers in their own field but also with specialists from other professions.

Conditions of admission

During admission procedure to this study programme, a combination of evaluating complex results of the secondary studies will be applied with an emphasis on the subjects of science on society of civics (ethics), Slovak language and science on society (or civics) and knowledge test from the science on society and interview evaluating 50% of knowledge and motivation test and 50% complex evaluation of results of studies at the secondary school (secondary school leaving exam (in case of foreign languages, taking of the secondary school leaving exam from foreign language at the B2 level will be bonified)), study results at the secondary school with an emphasis on specific subjects, participation and results from student olympiad, secondary school research activity, state exam and certificates from foreign languages)

General information on the admission exam

applicant can submit at most two application forms to studies indicating one study programme on the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prešov on one application form

applicants pay the fee using postal money order of type U, the receipt confirming the payment needs to be glued on page 3 of the application form

application forms without a receipt confirming the payment of the fee will not be accepted

applicant who took the secondary school leaving exam in previous period will attach to the application form also verified copies of all annual school reports, a verified copy of the secondary school leaving exam certificate and CV

applicant who takes the secondary school leaving exam in 2010 indicates in the application grades for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year (or the 4th year in case of 5-year studies), asks the school to confirm correctness of the data, attaches CV and after passing of the secondary school leaving exam will send to the faculty a verified copy of the secondary school leaving exam certificate (applies to applicants not taking the entrance exam), the others will bring the secondary school leaving exam certificates to the entrance exam

applicants will fill out the first and the second page and will ask the relevant youth physician to confirm in the application form their ability to study (in writing, a signature and a stamp of the physician is not enough)

officially not verified copies of certificates and not nostrified secondary school leaving exam certificates issued by foreign secondary schools will not be accepted

applicants with changed work ability will attach to the application form a statement issued by the evaluation committee

offered Bachelor´s study Programmes and their successful completion is one of conditions of continuing the study in accredited Master´s study Programmes
