Discrete Mathematics
The graduate of the study programme Discrete Mathematics has a deep theoretical-methodological knowledge of discrete mathematics, knows the theoretical foundations of discrete mathematics, scientific methods of research in this field, is able to discover deep regularities of discrete structures and to design discrete mathematical models of problems from different scientific fields and solve them on the computer. They will master methods of presenting research results in various forms, including publishing in scientific journals and presenting at scientific conferences. They will be able to keep in touch with the latest developments in their discipline and continue their own professional development.

Combinatorics and graph theory: Classical combinatorics. Basic combinatorial principles. Recursive methods. Enumeration of combinatorial objects. Classical graph theory - colorability, independence, Hamiltonianity of graphs. Turan's theorem, Ramsey's theorem. Graph algorithms. Oriented graphs. Introduction to topological graph theory.
Discrete optimization and algebraic structures: Linear and integer programming. The theory of valued graphs and networks. Game theory. Systems theory. Operational analysis. Linear algebra. Ordered algebraic structures. Finite graph theory. Finite fields. Boolean algebras.
The applicant is required to have knowledge of the subjects listed below in the first two levels of higher education. Emphasis is placed on subjects close to the subject in which the applicant is interested. The ability to work with professional mathematical texts in English is a prerequisite.
