Applied Network Engineering

Graduates of the programme will gain advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills in operation of information and communication systems, network technologies and infrastructure, design and communications network planning, system and network virtualization, integration and network security, and design of programme equipment for computer and network systems. They are prepared to adapt and respond to the latest trends and technologies, they are skilled to work as indivinduals or in a team. Graduates are prepared to carry out suggestions and implementation of networks and their security, maintanance, operation and development of advanced information and communication systems, cloud and security solutions based on the requirements and trends. They are prepared to communicate with architects, developers, administrators and network-network security specialists, community of professionals and users of information and communication solutions and  suppliers. They will be able to find a job in domestic and international  job markets, at different levels of management in the public or private sector in software and telecommunication companies, industrial companies, in education, banking, transport, medicine and environmental businesses.  Primarily they are successful in finding a job in companies focusing on suggestions and administration of information and communication solutions (company networks, internet providers’ networks, data centre solutions) and the areas of technologies related to them, for examples (suggestion and administration of network systems, virtual and cloud solutions, application of communication system security, TAC support). The most popular are positions like cloud and DevOps ingeneers, network and  sound ingeneers, system engineers, system and technology consultants/specialists, software developers and engineers. Later they can become  team leaders, architecs and consultant specialists.

Conditions of admission

The key admission requirement is to obtain a Bachelor´s degree (in accordance with the Higher Education Act 131/2002 Coll. as amended) in the same or similar field of study.



Conditions for international students

Foreign prospective students are admitted in accordance with the competent international agreements or if a student is going to study in a foreign language, they pay the school fees as stated in the Higher Education Act, paragraph 92, article 8 . The UNIZA guidelines set the school fees and they are published on the university website. The foreign prospective students are required to get a minimum B1 level in the Slovak language test, except the Czech prospective students.  They will have to take the test on the same day as the entrance exams. Passing it successfully with B1 level minimum is another admission requirement.   The applicants from the Czech republic  can use the application form valid in their country.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam

Prospective students, who have successfully passed the required subjects during the Bachelor´s studies (or their equivalent), can apply for recognition in the subjects. The wrriten application addressed to the dean is a part of the e-application and can be found on our website.

General information on the admission exam

After the deadline the prospective students will receive an invitation with all the details for an entrance exams. After the registration they must take a test within the time allocated and the results are available on the same day. The applicants can check their results on the website http://vzdelavanie.uniza.sk/prijimacky/ using their surname and ID code. The admission letter will be sent to the applicants by 31 July 2024.

 

Unsuccessful applicants can be admitted to converted 3-year study programmes. The key requirement for admission to those  programmes is the weighted average for the Bachelor´s study.
