Dentistry
The dental graduate has adequate knowledge of the theoretical, preclinical and clinical disciplines of dentistry. He/she is able to provide health care at the appropriate level of the organisational structure under the professional guidance of an experienced physician, is also prepared to work in primary health care, is familiar with the basic principles and organisation of health care, the basic medical legal standards necessary for the practice of the profession, and thus acquires the prerequisites for obtaining the requisite competence after the completion of the prescribed internship, postgraduate studies and examinations.
Dentistry
Graduates can be employed in all facilities of the Ministry of Health, in state and non-state health care facilities, in other functions, e.g. as a professional advisor within insurance companies, as a review doctor, in management and organizational functions in the field of health care, as well as in the field of pedagogy.

- the basic condition for admission to study in the doctoral study programme is successful completion of full secondary education or full secondary vocational education,
- demonstration of medical fitness to practise the relevant health profession by means of a certificate from a general practitioner,
- another condition for admission to the doctoral study programme is passing the admission procedure, including a written examination.
The criterion for admission to the doctoral study programme in general medicine and to the doctoral study programme in dentistry (study in Slovak language) is the overall score in the admission procedure after the admission examination, which places the applicant in the waiting list in ascending order.
The total score is the sum of the following points:
1.from the written entrance examination in the subjects of biology and chemistry (max. test score: 640)
2. from the bonus points for high school merit (bonus points for high school merit).
Bonuses for grade point averages on end-of-year report cards for grades 1 to 3 in high school (analogous to quintas to septimas for eight-year high schools; bilingual high schools with five years of study for grades 2, 3, 4) as follows:
Grade average 1.00: 15 points
Grade average 1.01 - 1.20: 12 points
Grade average 1.21 - 1.30: 10 points
Grade average 1.31 - 1.40: 5 points
Grade average 1,41 - 1,50: 3 points
3.of bonus points for the following high school subject Olympiads (in the Slovak Republic - at national and regional level): Biology Olympiad (categories A, B), Chemistry Olympiad (categories A, B, C), Mathematics Olympiad (categories A, B, C), Physics Olympiad (categories A, B, C, D) and Informatics Olympiad (categories A, B)
Bonification for subject Olympiads:
National round - 1st to 3rd place: 15 points
National round - 4th to 10th place: 10 points
County round - participation: 5 points
From the above Olympiads, bonus points are only counted once and that is for the best placement in any of them.
The maximum number of bonus points (paragraphs 2 and 3) that a candidate may earn is 30.
The maximum number of points that a candidate may obtain in the admission procedure is 670 (total points).
- duly filled e-application form, printed and signed, received within the stipulated time with all the required documents and payment of the material fee for the admission process. Incomplete or incorrectly filled application form will not be accepted.
The overall results of the admission procedure will be published on the university and faculty website under the applicant code.

- a separate application must be submitted for each study programme,
- the entrance examination is held separately for each study programme, the result of the entrance examination cannot be accepted for another study programme,
- in the e-application fill in the end of year grades for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd year of secondary school (analogously quinta to septima for eight-year grammar schools; bilingual grammar schools with five-year studies for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th year) - do not indicate the behavioural classification,
- application must be registered electronically through the MAIS academic information system at https://mais.szu.sk/eprihlaska (via Mozilla Firefox browser). Once uploaded, the electronic application must be printed, signed and accompanied by all required attachments and then sent to:

- the fee for material support of the admission procedure (70 €) is obliged to pay (exclusively by bank transfer) for each study programme to which he/she applies,
- the fee for the material support of the admission procedure can be refunded only if the faculty does not open the study programme due to a low number of applicants for the study.
Admission examination preparation materials will be sent electronically (pdf file) to the applicant's email inbox, based on the submission of a complete application form and payment of the admission material fee.
In addition to the application form, the applicant must attach:
- matriculation certificate (photocopy certified by a notary public or registry office). Applicants graduating in the 2024/2025 school year will submit their matriculation certificate on the day of the entrance examination,
- final year report cards (photocopies certified by a notary public or registrar's office)- only if the applicant qualifies for bonus points for grade point averages on final year report cards - for 1st - 3rd. year (analogous to quinta to septima for eight-year grammar schools; bilingual grammar schools with five-year studies end-of-year report cards for years 2, 3, 4) and if if the applicant does not have in the application form the grades confirmed by the secondary school for the above-mentioned years of secondary school,
if the applicant does not have the grades confirmed by the secondary school for the above-mentioned years of secondary school,- applicants who are graduating in the current school year will have the required end-of-year grade point averages confirmed directly on the printed version of the e-application (2nd page of the application form),
- Applicants graduating in the 2023/2024 school year and earlier are not required to have their grades confirmed by their high school, but are required to have their end-of-year report cards for the high school years listed above officially verified,
- Officially certified proof of placement in high school subject Olympiads only if the applicant qualifies for bonus points in the subject Olympiads,
- applicants who have completed their full secondary education abroad (except for documents obtained in the Czech Republic) are required to submit a decision on the recognition of secondary education for the purpose of continuing their studies in the Slovak Republic (nostrification).These decisions are issued by regional offices of the school administration.
- foreign applicants (except for the Czech Republic) for study in a study programme in the Slovak language must prove proficiency in the Slovak language by documenting a certificate of proficiency in the Slovak language at least at level B1 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (certificate or confirmation issued by a Slovak language school, which is registered in the network of schools and educational establishments in the Slovak Republic, or by a university in the Slovak Republic which organises or carries out language or vocational training for studies at a higher education institution).
In addition to the electronic application form, the applicant is obliged to upload the following documents (pdf file with the name of the uploaded document) - if these files are uploaded to the electronic application form, the applicant shall no longer send these documents by post:
- structured CV,
- proof of payment of the fee of 70,- € for the material support of the admission procedure,
- foreigners shall also enclose a copy of their passport (proof of citizenship).
Only those applicants who submit a duly completed and signed application form, attach all required documents and pay the fee for the material support of the admission procedure within the specified deadline will be invited to the entrance examination.
An applicant who meets the conditions for bonus points and does not attach to the application form the end-of-year certificates for the above-mentioned years of secondary school and diplomas from the above-mentioned subject olympiads will not be awarded bonus points in the admission procedure.
