Railway Transport
On the basis of the acquired knowledge, know-how and practical habits, graduates can primarily find work at the basic and middle levels of management of railway transport and transport operations in entities operating on the market of railway transport. They are also employable in forwarding and logistics companies, as well as in bodies of state government and self-government in the context of transport management. They are employable in enterprises with siding complex, in transport operators and transport departments of industrial enterprises. In addition, the Department of Railway transport in cooperation with the Slovak Railways carry out the training courses for the qualification of a staff member of the ŽSR (Railways of Slovak Republic) as a signal officer, rail switch supervisor, switch operator and train dispatcher. The courses are conducted outside the usual teaching. Upon successful completion of the course, the student receives a corporate scholarship from ŽSR (Railways of Slovak Republic). Completion of the first degree of university study is a quality basis for a smooth transition to the second degree of study.

Successful passing of the entrance exams in the form of tests from mathematics, general knowledge and language knowledge.
Conditions for international students
Foreign study applicants are admitted on the basis of relevant intergovernmental agreements, or study at their own expense.The applicants from EU countries are admitted and study under the same conditions as the students from the Slovak Republic. The applicants from the Czech Republic may use for submitting the study application form valid in the Czech Republic. In case of applicants who do not actively speak Slovak or Czech, a successful completion of language training (with possibility of performance at the ZU in Zilina) is required.
"Foreign study applicants that study at their own expenses shall submit the required materials (documents of previous study, etc.) and according to the individual assessment of the applicant the dean of the faculty shall decide on acceptance (non-acceptance) for the study without entrance exams. More detailed information and criteria for assessment of the applicants in the admission procedure for full-time and part-time Bachelor and engineer study are published on the website of the faculty (http://www.fpedas.uniza.sk)."
Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Without entrance exams will be accepted only applicants from grammar schools with arithmetic average for the last but one year of the study (not the leaving exam year) up to 1.60 including.
Even these applicants must come on the day determined for the entrance interview where the mandatory enclosures of the application form are checked (school reports, CV, payment document). In case that the applicant meets the conditions of admission without entrance exams, only by interview, according to the achieved study result average, these results will be checked by the committee on the day of the entrance exam.

if the applicant would like to participate in the admission procedure in more study programmes, the applications must be filed and the respective fee must be paid separately for each study programme
the tuition is according to the act on universities
the document of fee payment for the admission procedure must be sent to the address of the faculty together with the application
Part-time study - the study shall be opened in case of a sufficient number of applicants
within the entrance exam knowledge from mathematics in the scope of grammar school curriculum is required
the tests are evaluated by an electronic evaluation equipment and the results will be published on the faculty website on the day of the entrance exam( http://www.fpedas.uniza.sk).
