Public Policy

We are delighted that you have chosen to study at the Institute of Public Policy, and for the next two years my colleagues and I will be working with you to teach you how to make better decisions about public finances, about the rights and responsibilities of people living in Slovakia, and even to make better decisions about many aspects of your personal life. Among the teachers at the Institute, you will find many outstanding scholars, and we are also joined by practitioners who work in the public sector, the media, or the non-governmental sector, and who think every day about how to improve life in our country. With a vibrant and active community of PhD students, senior students, and our alumni, you will certainly enjoy joining in the discussions we organise at the Institute. Our programme is also unique in that many of the lectures are given by practitioners such as Lívia Vašáková, who works as an economic advisor at the EC Representation in Slovakia, Matej Šucha, who works as an expert in the field of behavioural sciences, Vincent Bujňák, who works on lawmaking in the office of the Member of the National Assembly of the Slovak Republic, and many others.

The lectures are given by experts in the field of behavioural sciences.

Our institute runs a Public Policy Book Club, where we discuss a selected book together with experts. The meetings are very fruitful; the books discussed correlate with the topics covered by the students in each course. You can also get involved in writing our quarterly magazine Public Policy News, in which we report on various events, academic conferences, or lectures, and publish interviews with students who have participated in foreign residencies or internships.
