Graduate Profile
A graduate is a healthcare professional who provides pre-hospital healthcare. He/she has adequate knowledge of the disciplines that are basic to emergency health care. He/she is familiar with the principles, practices and standards in emergency health care. Knows the legal standards on the scope of practice of a paramedic, the conditions of cooperation of all emergency components of the Integrated Rescue System.

Basic Admission Requirements:
- graduates of secondary schools from the Slovak Republic and from abroad who have completed their secondary school studies with a matriculation examination (or equivalent examination) and submit a valid document to that effect by the deadline set by FSVaZ may choose the study programme;
- applicants who do not fulfil the basic condition for admission by the set deadline, but fulfil the other basic conditions for admission to the study set by the FSVaZ and at the same time obtain the necessary number of points for admission according to the set criteria, may be admitted to the study with the proviso that they are obliged to prove fulfilment of the basic condition no later than on the date set for enrolment in the study (pursuant to Section 58(1) of Act No 131/2002 on Higher Education).

SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION IN EXTERNAL FORM:
- completion of a full secondary vocational education in the field of study of paramedic and at least one year of experience in the ambulance service,
- or a qualified general nurse practising as a paramedic and a minimum of three years' continuous experience in the ambulance service,
- or a general nurse practising as a paramedic and a minimum of five years' continuous experience in the ambulance service.
Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Other admission requirements:
The number of applicants, high school performance and activities will be taken into consideration in the selection process.
The list of admitted full-time applicants will be compiled on the basis of the results of the aptitude test and the academic performance in high school and extra-curricular activities as follows:
1.) The talent test shall consist of physical fitness assessment: general motor tests (long jump from standing; 2 kg ball throw; endurance in bending/number of bends; lying-sitting in min; endurance shuttle run; 4 x 10 m run) and swimming.
SwimmingIf a candidate does not participate in the talent test he/she will be eliminated from the admission process.
In order to continue in the admission process, the applicant must obtain a minimum score of 15 points in the talent test.
2.) Grade point average on end-of-year report cards for years 2 and 3
3.) Baccalaureate subjects: Biology and Foreign Language (in order: English, German, French).
In case the candidate has not passed matriculation in Biology, the subjects will be considered in the following order: Theoretical part of the matriculation exam - only for graduates of SZŠ; other candidates: Chemistry, Health Science, Slovak Language and Literature, Russian Language, Hungarian Language, Czech Language.
4.) Extra-curricular activities: participation in SOTS, competitions with a medical focus (e.g. first aid competition), volunteering (scope of active participation in events min. 50 hours), representation in sports competitions.
A candidate for full-time studies must submit a medical certificate of medical fitness to study the medical profession of paramedic pursuant to Sections 31 and 32 of Act No 578/2004 Coll.
Special conditions for the admission of applicants in the external form of study:
Completion of full secondary vocational education in the field of study of paramedic with at least one year of experience in the emergency medical service,
or a qualified general nurse practising as a paramedic with a minimum of three years' continuous experience in the emergency medical service,
or a general nurse practising as a paramedic with at least five years' continuous experience in the ambulance service
