Prospects of graduates
The graduate of General Medicine has adequate theoretical knowledge of both theoretical, pre-clinical subjects, and clinical disciplines. In their practical training they will learn basic preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures. In their post-graduate education they become specialist in primary care and may attain qualifications to work as a physician in any medical specialism. The study of General Medicine lasts for 6 years and its graduates are awarded the degree of "Doctor of General Medicine" (MUDr.), which automatically entitles them to work not merely in any country of the European Union, but almost all the world.

Conditions of admission
The condition for admission is to succesful pass an entrance examination test.

Written test from:
- biology (100 questions),
- chemistry (100 questions).

The maximum number of points is 800. The time for elaboration is 150 minutes.

The applicant is allowed to sit the entrance examination only once per admission year in one study programme.

Requirements:

- for doctor study in full-time form is obtaining complete high school education or complete secondary school education.

Every applicant with Slovak citizenship, a citizen of a EU member state or a citizen of a third state who until the deadline specified above sends a properly filled out application and meets the basic conditions of admission may participate in the admission procedure for study programmes studied in English language.

Documents to be submitted:
1. Filled in, signed + printed application form
2. Attachment to application form
3. Medical confirmation
4. Copy of passport / ID card
5. Confirmation of application and entrance exam fee payment

The listed documents are to be submitted directly to the address of the Faculty.

Applicants who completed their high school studies in foreign countries will submit a certificate of equality or a nostrification provision according to valid regulations.

Another condition of admission to doctor study is successful performance of the entrance exam.

Applicants will receive written invitation to entrance exam one month before the entrance exam at the latest.

Conditions for international students
Requirements for the entrance exams of foreign students are the same as for the citizens of Slovak republic.

The faculty provides education in English for foreign students in both study programmes of doctor study.

Form of entrance exam
Entrance exam will be performed in the form of a written test from subjects biology and chemistry. Content orientation of individual subjects with its extent represents the content of a complete high school education.

Tests
The set of test questions for applicants consists of 200 questions - 100 questions from biology and 100 questions from chemistry. Time for answering 200 questions is 150 minutes. Formulation of questions and four variants of answers enables the selection of the correct answer, while question can have multiple correct answers or none. Maximum number of points the applicant can receive is 800.

Applicants can buy the test questions in bookshops available on the faculty website.
