Public Administration
The study part consists of specialised lectures and individual study of literature according to the needs of the dissertation focus. The content of the study part also includes Methodology and methods of scientific work in social science research and language training. The topics of the core knowledge are linked to the topics of the field of public policy and public administration as a scientific discipline. In accordance with the requirements of the core curriculum description, the graduate will acquire knowledge of the theory of public policy and public administration, including methodological issues of their research and application, democratisation of public policy and public administration, processes in public administration, constitutional and legal foundations of public administration, current legislation concerning public administration, new forms of financing, organising, managing and evaluating public administration.

The study programme is designed so that its graduates at a professional and scientific level master the studied issues in the field of public administration in the broader context of public policy, legal norms in a democratic state and economic aspects of its functioning. The graduate will acquire the principles of methodology and scientific work methodology, the ability to orientate in the issues of public policy and public administration also in foreign language terminology, to apply theoretical knowledge, to clearly and concisely present the results of his/her work.

Conditions of admission
- Successful completion of the second degree of higher education in the study programme Public Administration, European Public Administration or a related study programme.
- Successful completion of the entrance examination.

2. Brief structure of the dissertation with definition of the problems to be investigated and justification of the need to investigate them

4. References, bibliography, which the candidate is already familiar with at the beginning of his/her thesis

The study program is provided in Slovak language only.
Applicants from abroad, or applicants who have completed a second degree of higher education at a foreign university, must submit a decision on the recognition of the degree for academic purposes.
Only those applicants who submit a duly completed application form, enclose all attachments and pay the admission fee by the deadline will be invited to the entrance examination.

Form of entrance exam
- Professional oral examination in the subject "Public Administration in a Democratic State" (the question headings will be sent to the registered candidates together with the invitation to the entrance examination).
- A professional discussion, the aim of which is to assess the applicant's aptitude for creative scientific work and the applicant's motivation for doctoral studies. The committee will verify the applicant's proficiency in the foreign language chosen by the applicant by allowing a committee member to ask a question in the foreign language during the debate, to which the applicant must respond in that language.
