British and American Studies

The program gives individuals the opportunity to specialize in one of the department's three core areas: linguistics, literature or culture of Great Britain and the United States. Our department's position is unique in that we offer joint-degrees with our partner universities from other European countries.

Doctoral programs are aimed at training highly skilled and qualified individual with primarily academic ambitions. Upon successful completion, students are awarded with Doctor of Philosophy (PhD.) degree.

Form of entrance exam
The admission exam is oral and its content includes the following:
a) discussion related to the presented project in connection with the topic, methods of research and anticipated research results (maximum 50 points),
b) verification of applicant’s theoretical and methodological knowledge in the given field of study including the knowledge of specialised literature (maximum 50 points)
