Anatomy, Histology and Embryology
Prospects of graduates
Knowledge
The requirement to complete the study program is knowledge of the basic anatomical and histological structure of the human body, organs and systems, molecular mechanisms involved in the regulation of basic processes taking place in cells, tissues and organs, as well as their disorders resulting in pathological states; theoretical and practical mastery of biological material processing methods for relevant analyses, in particular at the level of molecules, cells and tissues; preparation and implementation of a scientific experiment; propose scientific projects, including the preparation of a written proposal, an objective evaluation of the results obtained and their statistical analysis; extension and modernisation of diagnostic procedures in medicine; the ability to present their own research results to the professional public at conferences and scientific events, publication of articles in scientific and professional journals at home and abroad.
Competences
Graduates of the study programme Anatomy, Histology and Embryology, 3rd degree of university studies, will master the principles and methodology of scientific work and will be able to carry out professional and scientific activities in the field of anatomy, histology and embryology (morphology), clinical anatomy, pathological anatomy, biomedical and pharmaceutical research. The theoretical knowledge and practical skills they acquire through study will also enable them to pursue the profession of researcher in related medical and pharmaceutical fields, such as molecular biology, veterinary medicine and pharmacology. Graduates of the field have the ability to independently scientifically work and bring their own solutions in the listed fields.
Skills
During his doctoral studies, the student in this study program acquires knowledge in the field of anatomy, histology and embryology, morphology as such, focused on the issue of the mechanisms of physiological and pathological processes that take place in the human body. It studies the essence of disease processes at the level of the organism and at the cellular and subcellular level. During the course of his studies, the student learns to independently formulate a scientific problem, formulate a scientific hypothesis, prepare and conduct a scientific experiment, propose scientific projects, including the elaboration of a written proposal, use biological model organisms in research, objectively evaluate the results obtained by statistical analyses. The main objective of these activities will be theoretical as well as practical mastery of biological material processing methods for relevant methodologies and analyses. The student's abilities after completing the study programme will be based on framework themes.
