General and Experimental Psychology
Prospects of graduates
Education in the study programme respects the standards of the European Federation of Psychological Associations (EFPA) for the education and training of future psychologists and is compatible with the education of psychologists in EU member countries. The aim of education in the study programme is to prepare a graduate who, at the time of completion of the bachelor's degree, possesses the knowledge and skills enabling the examination, prognostic assessment of the behaviour of a person or a group of people by means of selected psychological methods, techniques and procedures corresponding to the current knowledge of psychological sciences and the state of the practice. It is oriented in various sub-disciplines of psychology and some related disciplines. Possesses basic training in all psychological specialties, major topics and techniques in psychology as a discipline. Possesses a foundation for acquiring primary psychological skills and prerequisites for conducting research in psychology.
Graduate profile - learning Outcomes:
1.Knowledge: the graduate knows and can choose specific scientific methods of basic and applied research in the field of general and experimental psychology, educational, counseling and school psychology, clinical psychology and social and occupational psychology. He has extensive expertise in several areas of his field of study, which serves as a basis for conducting research and development and creating new knowledge in the field of psychology.
2.Acquired skills:The graduate is able to formulate new hypotheses and strategies for further research and development of psychology. Applies own findings of his/her theoretical analysis and his/her comprehensive scientific research in solving problems in the areas of the field of study. He/she has a working knowledge of the chosen research methods and uses them in the search for new technologies, technical details and important interactive system links. Can design, validate, and implement new research and work practices based on their outputs and findings.
3.Professional and transferable competences. He/she independently presents the results of research and development to the professional community in the Slovak Republic and abroad. Takes into account social, scientific and ethical aspects in formulating research objectives and interpreting research results. Can determine the focus of research and coordinate the research, conceptual and analytical work of experts in the relevant scientific field. Further, communication skills, mathematical skills, organisational skills, digital skills, critical thinking, timemanagement, working under supervision, group work, information retrieval and critical selection, etc.

CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION TO DOCTORAL DEGREE PROGRAMS
The basic prerequisite for admission to doctoral studies is a second-level university degree.
ELECTRONIC APPLICATION FORM AND MANDATORY ATTACHMENTS
- candidates apply for the dissertation topics, which are published on the faculty's website,
- the candidate is obliged to SAVE the created electronic application (the status of the application "registered" is not sufficient),
- the following attachments shall be uploaded to the attachment of the electronic application: Confirmation of payment of the admission fee (compulsory attachment), Curriculum vitae (compulsory attachment), a framework project on the topic of the dissertation in accordance with the faculty guide-lines (compulsory attachment), a summary of professional and scientific activities (optional annex), a list of published scientific papers (optional annex),
- certified copies of the diploma and the state examination certificate must be delivered by post to the study department as soon as they are received,
- applicants who are graduates of the UCM are not required to send certified copies of their univer-sity diploma or state examination certificate.

ADMISSION INTERVIEW
The admission procedure is a selection procedure in the form of an interview, where the applicant presents his/her motives, prerequisites for studies, dissertation project as well as knowledge of a foreign language. In the selection procedure, preference will be given to graduates who have participated in student scientific, professional and artistic activities. A candidate becomes a PhD student after successful completion of the selection procedure and after enrolment in the PhD program based on the admission decree of the Dean of the Faculty.

Conditions for international students
BASIC ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
The admission conditions for foreign applicants are the same as for students from the Slovak Republic, a good knowledge of the Slovak language is required, which the applicant proves by a certificate of the final school leaving examination in the Slovak language or a university diploma issued by a Slovak university. Applicants who have not passed the matriculation examination in the Slovak language, or who have not completed higher education in a study program offered in the Slovak language, are obliged to send by post a certificate of proficiency in the Slovak language at least at B1 level by 30 April 2025 at the latest. This obligation does not apply to applicants with citizenship of the Czech Republic.
DOCUMENTATION OF EDUCATION OBTAINED OUTSIDE THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC
The applicant is obliged to submit, no later than on the day of enrolment, a decision on the recognition of a document of education obtained outside the territory of the Slovak Republic, which will be recognized by a higher education institution that carries out study program in the same fields of study or in related fields of study as those listed on the document of education, or by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic, if there is no such higher education institution in the Slovak Republic. This obligation does not apply to applicants who have completed their education in the Czech Republic.

GENERAL INFORMATION ON THE ADMISSION PROCEDURE
Applicants may apply to study more than one study program, but only one study program must be indicated on a single application form. The fee shall be paid by the applicant for each application separately to the faculty's account number by bank transfer.
Tuition fees in part-time study programs and other fees:
First-degree study programs (three-year study programs): 750 €
Second-degree study programs (two-year study programs): 900 €
Third-degree study programs (four-year study programs): 1 400 €
Third-degree study programs (five-year study programs): 1 200 €
Annual tuition fees for a SP conducted exclusively in a language other than the national language (obligation to pay tuition fees will only arise if a public higher education institution in the academic year in which the student started the student was enrolled in the same field of study and degree in a study program which is also conducted in the national language): € 1 000
Annual tuition fee of a program of study conducted exclusively in a language other than the official language for a student who is not is neither a citizen of a Member State nor a permanent resident of a Member State: €2 500
Fee for the rigorosum exam: € 500
