Environmental Protection and Recovery

Graduates of the Bachelor's degree programme Environmental Protection and Restoration
will gain knowledge from several fields of study, which they will use to solve existing environmental problems. It is a strongly interdisciplinary study programme promoting creative thinking, independent work and an innovative approach in the use of the acquired knowledge in environmental sciences, environmental protection, as well as in the creation of new technologies that will not be so damaging to the environment compared to conventional technologies. The programme offers specificities unique at the national and international level, as it takes advantage of the uniqueness of the institution and the composition of the teachers, especially in the use of radioanalytical methods, molecular biological analyses of living systems, methods of environmental microbiology and biotechnology, or biophysical methods in the field of the environment, and thus also contributes to increasing the competitiveness of the student in the labour market.
Graduates of the study programme have the prerequisites:
 to apply in various environmental and remediation facilities of control, operational and research orientation and to perform more demanding work, especially of a technical nature (e.g. in wastewater treatment plants, at the workplaces of the Slovak Environmental Inspection, at the workplaces of the Office of Public Health),
 to apply in state and public administration as workers in the field of environmental informatics and environmental legislation (e.g. in the field of environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection, environmental protection).
 to apply themselves in geoinformatics, specifically in the field of spatial geographic data processing for obtaining information of natural and social nature,
 to apply themselves in consulting activities in environmental issues for a wide range of entrepreneurs,
 to continue in higher levels of university studies.
The completion of the study programme will enable fresh bachelor graduates to be adequately employed immediately after graduation, but at the same time to have the widest possible opportunities to continue their studies at the 2nd level of higher education with the prospect of completing the 3rd level of higher education.

Conditions of admission

The basic condition for admission to the bachelor's programme is the acquisition of a complete secondary education or a complete secondary vocational education (§ 56 (1) 131/2002 Coll. on Higher Education and on Amendments and Additions to Certain Acts).
The admission procedure is conducted without an entrance examination.
For the admission of an applicant to the Bachelor's study programme, the data on the course of studies at secondary school will be decisive.
In determining the score, the following is simultaneously taken into account:
- the study average at secondary school without the matriculation examination,
- the result of the matriculation examination.
Students who have completed their studies at foreign universities, foreign students, shall submit nostrified documents on completed studies in accordance with Act No. 422/2015 Coll. on the Recognition of Documents on Education and on the Recognition of Professional Qualifications and on Amendments and Supplements to Certain Acts.



Additional information

The application form must include:
- CV,
- proof of payment of the admission fee,
- high school report cards for 1-4. year officially certified (registrar/notary)
- high school leaving certificate officially certified (registrar/notary)
An applicant who is graduating in the school year 2023/2024 shall list on the application form the grades from the end-of-year leaving certificates for 1st-3rd grades.
In the case of a five-year course of study, he/she writes out the grades for the 2nd-4th year, which he/she has the secondary school certify in his/her application form, or he/she submits the officially certified (by the registry office/notary) certificates mentioned above in his/her application form.

The applicant who has graduated before the school year 2023/2024 shall list the grades from the end-of-year report cards for the 1st-4th year of the school year in the application form.

The applicant shall deliver the marks for the 1st-4th year (2nd-5th year) and the matriculation certificate officially certified (by the registry office/notary) no later than 14 June 2024.





Conditions for international students

Admission conditions for international students are the same as for students from the Slovak Republic. The condition of admission to the study programme conducted in Slovak language is the knowledge of Slovak language at the level enabling the study in Slovak language.
Foreign applicants prove their knowledge of the language with a Certificate of Slovak language proficiency at the B2 level.
