Graduate Profile
The graduate of the study programme "Creation and Construction of Furniture" in the field of Woodworking has knowledge about wood, production of wood-based materials, wood processing and treatment technologies and their machinery and equipment, and about the creation and construction of furniture. It can analyse problems in production and apply woodworking technologies appropriately. Is able to cooperate and coordinate with managers, designers, technologists and specialists from other professions. As a designer, he can create technical documentation of products (visualizations and design drawings) also with the help of CAD systems, independently create price calculations and other documents in preparation for production. As a technologist, he/she can design technological procedures in the production of furniture and other wood-based products, create documents for programming CNC machines using CAM systems and manage furniture production at lower stages of production.
After completing the bachelor's degree, the graduate is ready to continue in the second level of studies or to apply knowledge and skills in the business environment.
The graduate possesses theoretical knowledge in the field of natural, social and economic sciences, necessary for mastering professional subjects, in the field of wood processing and materials production and in the field of relevant machinery and technological equipment, has and understands the knowledge in the field of design and construction of furniture and its production.
Acquire practical abilities and skills: master standard methods of determining the properties and quality of raw materials and input products; be able to solve basic technological and technical problems in wood processing and furniture manufacturing processes; be able to operate machinery and technological equipment efficiently and effectively; be prepared to participate in the pre-production preparation of wood products, especially furniture structures.
By acquiring additional knowledge, skills and abilities, he/she can indicate technical, technological and economic problems in the production process; he/she can work effectively as a member of a work team and manage a work team at the appropriate level; he/she can keep in touch with developments in his/her field.
Prospects of graduates
The graduate of the bachelor degree of the study programme "Creation and Construction of Furniture" in the field of Woodworking will find employment in the field of woodworking in particular:
- in furniture and wood products manufacturing plants as a technologist in production, technical worker in preparation and production assurance and as a manager at lower and middle management levels,
- in design offices and interior design studios as a creator of complex technical documentation of furniture and wood products, as a contact person in contact with customers in the creation of orders for production and in the implementation of deliveries of furniture and wood products,
- in furniture and woodwork testing laboratories and in expert activities,
- in consultancy activities, but also as a specialist in the field of trade in wood products and semi-finished products.

Conditions of admission without the entrance exam
Admission to the study programme Creation and Construction of Furniture takes place without entrance examinations, only on the basis of the evaluation of study results from secondary school.
Assessment of learning achievements at secondary school
- accomplishments shall be expressed as an average of the average value of the academic performance during the secondary school years,

student average to be calculated from the end-of-year report cards of the 4 years of secondary school,

for a scholastic average of 1.00 is 100 points, for a scholastic average of 4.00 is 0 points. A linear function is used to assign the number of points according to the average,

disregard the level in the graduation average and evaluate it for information only,

the quality of achievement at different types of schools will be taken into account by multiplying the score achieved by a factor of 1.00 for grammar school graduates, by a factor of 0.9 for vocational school graduates and by a factor of 0.8 for apprenticeship school graduates.

Applicants who graduate in the 2021/2022 school year shall have their grade point average and transcript of grades from the end-of-year report cards of grades 1-3 of the high school confirmed by the principal of the graduating high school on the application form.

Authenticated copy of the graduation certificate and the certificate of the 4th year are required to be delivered by all applicants to the Dean's Office of the Faculty of Wood immediately upon receipt - no later than June 15, 2022,

Applicants who graduated last year and earlier shall attach to the application form a officially certified photocopy of the graduation report card and all report cards from secondary school (apprenticeship, post-secondary studies) and insert in the application form the grade point average of each year of the end-of-year report cards of grades 1 - 4,
