Moreover, the graduate is also able to evaluate the properties of technical materials as well as the impact of material technologies from the environmental aspect. He/she will gain the knowledge in the field of research relating to the effects of technological processes of materials production on individual parts of environment with an emphasis on the development processes relating to new advanced technologies and materials, recycling and remediation technologies of major types of industrial waste and implementation of wasteless and environmentally friendly technologies. He/she will also obtain some basic knowledge in relation to the computational modelling and simulation of materials loading. The graduate will be completely educated for work in industrial plants (companies) in the area of production of technical materials, technological processing of technical materials into semi-finished products and final products, technical preparation and production management as well as in the area of testing, quality control, purchase and sale of materials. Furthermore, the given graduate will be able to carry out and analyse experiments independently and it means, he/she can also be employed as a researcher in chemical and material laboratories. independently carry out experiments, process them and evaluate them, so he can also work as a specialist for research in chemical and materials laboratories. He/she can continue in his/her engineering study at Faculty of Industrial Technologies in Puchov.
The graduate with the specialization in Materials and Technologies has basic knowledge in the field of production technology of technical materials, creation or formation of specific technological procedures and processes, testing of mechanical and technological properties and selection of appropriate materials for specific application. Furthermore, the given graduate can obtain the basic knowledge in relation to the chemical composition, structure and specific application of metallic and non-metallic materials. He/she will be familiar with utilisation of modern CAD systems to support design and modelling process. Furthermore, the graduate will be able to work with various test equipment and evaluate the structure of materials. The graduate will be completely educated to work in industrial plants (companies) in the field of production of technical materials, technological processing of technical materials into semi-finished products and final products, technical documentation, construction and production management as well as in the field of testing and product quality control. He/she will be able to carry out the experiments independently, process the experimental data as well as to analyse them in the routine cases and therefore, he/she can also be employed as a specialist in the materials research. He/she can continue in his/her engineering study at Faculty of Industrial Technologies in Puchov.
The graduate with the specialization in Materials and Design is familiar with the theory of industrial design relating to various types of products and therefore, he/she is able design the final product, depending on the material properties and production technology. He/she has a basic knowledge in relation to the chemical composition, structure and production technologies as well as processing of various types of materials. Furthermore, the given graduate has also fundamental knowledge relating to various experimental methods and he/she can work with appropriate testing equipment in order to evaluate the properties and structure of materials. He/she will be able to carry out the experimental procedures independently, process the experimental data as well as to analyse these data in the routine cases. He/she will be also able to work as a member of development teams and solve technical and design problems in production. In addition, the given graduate can be in permanent contact with continuous technical developments in the area of technical materials. He/she will be able to implement designs independently and therefore, he/she can be employed as a designer in the technical practice. The given graduate can also continue in his/her engineering study at Faculty of Industrial Technologies in Puchov.
The study programme is intended not only for students who have sufficient space to study on weekdays and can attend classes organized from Monday to Friday by direct contact between the teacher and the student, but is also suitable for students who, with regard to other responsibilities (e.g. employment, difficult health, family or social conditions) cannot attend classes on weekdays and for them, block teaching is realized.

Conditions of admission
The fundamental prerequisite or requirement for admission to be a student of any Bachelor study programme (the first degree of the higher university education) is based on completed (accomplished) secondary school with the school-leaving certificate (or other equivalent document confirming the accomplishment of the secondary school with school-leaving certificate).

The applicants for full-time Bachelor study in study Materials Engineering will be admitted without any entrance exam - the admission procedure will be only based on the evaluation of the results referring to the completed (accomplished) secondary education and technical skills as well as activities obtained at secondary school and after fulfilment of all prerequisites mentioned hereinafter.

An applicant will be preferably accepted to be student if he/she fulfills at least one of the following options as well as provides the relevant documents:
• an applicant from any grammar school or any specialised high school who has achieved an overall average up to/or 2.95 from the study marks for the end-of-year evaluation reports in all subjects for the last 2 study years during the secondary education
• an applicant who has graduated from mathematics, physics or chemistry (there are marks in the final leaving report) during the secondary education with evaluation which is not worse than 3,
• an applicant who, during his/her studies at secondary school, was a successful in solution of Olympiads mathematics, physics, informatics and/or other natural science or technical subjects,
• an applicant who, in the current school (academic) year, passed the NCE tests for general study prerequisites or mathematics with a percentile of at least 30.
