Building Technology

The study programme is oriented towards the education of a civil engineer, a university-qualified expert in the field of civil engineering and technological preparation and implementation of civil and engineering constructions. The study programme creates prerequisites for obtaining professional competence for the function of construction manager and construction supervision. Graduates are qualified to perform all functions and activities in the preparation, implementation, reconstruction, rehabilitation and use of all types of buildings and sets of buildings at higher management levels: Chief Construction Manager, Chief Construction Supervisor, Chief Construction Engineer, Chief Construction Mechanic, Chief Construction Production Mechanic, Construction Company Quality Manager, State Construction Supervisor and State Supervisor, Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Manager, Environmental Engineer for Construction Activities , expert activity, teacher at secondary and higher vocational schools, entrepreneur in the field of preparation and implementation of construction,production and sale of construction materials and parts, leader and manager in the field of testing, proving the conformity of construction products and quality assessment.



Prospects of graduates

Graduates will work in construction production and supplier organisations (as heads of construction, construction surveillance), in designing activity, in investment departments, in departments of state administration (municipal offices, environmental protection offices, building offices), in research institutes dealing with technological processes and in educational institutions as independent entrepreneurs.

Conditions for international students
    • A foreign national who has not completed a Bachelor's degree in Slovak and is interested in studying a study programme in Slovak or in a combination of Slovak and English, must submit a document confirming knowledge of the Slovak language at least at B1 level by the deadline 20 June 2025 (or 15 August 2025 in the 2nd round of the entrance examinations). Without this document the applicant will not be admitted to the study.
    • An applicant for a study programme offered in English, if he/she has not completed his/her Bachelor's degree in English, must submit a document confirming his/her knowledge of English at least at B1 level by the deadline 20 June 2025 (or 15 August 2025 in the 2nd round of the entrance examinations). Without this document, the applicant will not be admitted to the study.

General information on the admission exam

A list of applicants is made based on the results of secondary school studies and results of the entrance exams.

Applicants placed on the list up to the place corresponding with the guiding number of the given study programs will be accepted.

Applicants who will be placed after this place will be offered another study program (provided that the guiding number of some of the study program will not be fulfilled).

The list of admitted applicants is published on the website of the faculty.

We recommend to indicate on the application form at least one alternative study programme apart from the chosen study programme that the applicant will accept in case of unsuccessful admission procedure for the selected study programme.

Following receiving of the application, the faculty will confirm the receipt and will sent applicants information about the application procedure.
