Applied Electrical Engineering

In the engineering study programme Applied Electrical Engineering, the graduate receives education in the broad field of research, development, design and construction of electrical equipment, also in the broader context of control, measurement and diagnostic systems as well as material-technological research. He or she will acquire a deep knowledge of applied electrical engineering, measurement technology and diagnostics and of the application of modern methods of measurement and process information retrieval, including computer vision. He will be able to apply this knowledge to various application areas in industry as well as in research. He/she will be prepared to work independently or manage a team to solve complex projects in this field.

Prospects of graduates

Graduates are employed not only in the electrical industry but also in interdisciplinary professions, wherever it is necessary to quantify the characteristics of processes in terms of implementation and on the basis of the information obtained to create an electrical or electronic system that allows to display or evaluate the data or intervene in the process. Graduates of this degree programme have the advantage of in-depth knowledge and design skills of electrical equipment, electronic circuits, measurement and diagnostic systems. A graduate of the Applied Electrical Engineering programme can independently analyse a technical problem, design and construct an electrical or electronic device and commission the device.
