Quality and Safety in Production Technologies
Graduates of the study programme Quality and Safety in Production Technologies are able to solve problems related to the implementation and operation of production-technological systems. They have the necessary knowledge to ensure the rational operation of such equipment while maintaining the required quality of production. Graduates have knowledge of production technologies (casting, forming, machining, welding, surface treatment, heat treatment, assembly, transport and storage), materials, production machines, means of operational and inter-operational handling and transport, control of production processes and their management. The above special knowledge is enhanced by knowledge of computer technology, CAx systems and CAx technologies used in the preparation and control of production. Graduates have additional knowledge on the basis of which they are able to interact with other professions and components involved in production assurance (economics, management, construction, supply, etc.). Graduates have the ability to apply themselves in the implementation and operation of production-technology systems as technologists, designers of production aids in TPV and in production quality control. They have the knowledge and skills necessary to ensure rational operation and to deal with non-standard situations arising in operation, in solving logistics and production management problems. They also have sufficient knowledge to design complete parts of production processes.
Prospects of graduates
Graduates of the study programme Quality and Safety in Production Technologies in the first level of university studies (B.Sc.) are mainly equipped with the necessary knowledge and prerequisites for further engineering studies. Graduates are also qualified for the profession of production technologist. Production technologist is generally familiar with technical documentation, technical preparation of production, production technologies, can ensure the operation of production-technological systems, improve their operational parameters and solve unforeseen situations. He/she can manage the operation of individual equipment and technological lines, can solve technological problems, knows the safety of technologies and risks of work, knows the basics of creation, structure and characterization of materials, can assess the quality of materials and their ecological properties.
