Prospects of graduates

In accordance with the Slovak Qualifications Framework (SQF), a graduate of the third level of the SP (level 8 of the SQF) will be qualified for the following jobs and occupations:

1. university teacher acting as an assistant professor,

2. a researcher in a higher education setting focusing on special education or inclusive pedagogy,

3. a conceptual, managerial and programmatic worker in the public administration in the field of education and education.

Conditions of admission

Applicants to the doctoral programme in special education must have completed

2nd level of higher education, preferably in the study programme in special education (or its earlier equivalents), or in the study programme in therapeutic pedagogy, teaching for primary education.

They must successfully pass an entrance examination in which they demonstrate the depth and breadth of knowledge required for doctoral study with a focus on their chosen dissertation topic. Submit a written project on the chosen dissertation topic. In the discussion of this project, they will demonstrate the prerequisites for scientific work, including a good orientation in foreign and domestic scientific production. Candidates shall apply for one of the topics announced by the faculty and published on the faculty's website at least two months before the date of the admission procedure. The admission procedure includes: an oral examination in special education, educational rehabilitation of the handicapped and the handicapped, communication theory of the handicapped and the handicapped, as well as a defence of the research project to be the subject of the dissertation, and proof of the applicant's computer literacy (Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet). The entrance examination will be held before a committee whose composition is proposed by the thesis committee and approved by the Dean of the Faculty. Based on the results of the entrance examination, the Dean shall decide whether or not to accept the candidate within 30 days of the date of the entrance examination. The admitted candidate becomes a doctoral student on the date of enrolment, the date of which is determined by the Dean. The enrolment documentation shall also include the approved individual study plan of the doctoral student.

General information on the admission exam

The admission procedure for a candidate begins with the delivery of his/her electronically completed application form to the Faculty of Education.

The applicant submits his/her application for university studies electronically via the academic information system AIS2 and at the same time in printed form together with other attachments. The application form and a detailed description of how to complete it electronically can be found on the www.fedu.uniba.sk website. After uploading the electronic application form into the system, the applicant prints it, signs it and sends it with the required attachments ( http://www.fedu.uniba.sk/index.php?id=3472 ) by post to the address of the Department of Science and Doctoral Studies of the Charles University Faculty of Arts. Only a correctly filled in, signed by the applicant and delivered by the deadline will the application form be officially registered.

Fee for admission procedure, the applicant shall pay by bank transfer on the basis of the payment order which is part of the online application form and generated by the applicant in AiS. The applicant is obliged to provide all the required data (including the specific symbol) and enter his/her name and surname in the message to the recipient; a copy of the proof of payment (bank transfer slip or bank confirmation of the transfer) is a mandatory attachment to the application form. Without the required confirmation of payment of the fee, the application will not be registered.
