Prospects of graduates

Absolvents are characterized by independent, critical and analytical thinking, which they apply to changing conditions in society.

Based on the knowledge and skills they have acquired, they are able to determine the focus of research and coordinate a team in the field of social work. The graduate is prepared for the implementation of scientific research work and the development of concepts in the field of social work and social policy.

Based on the acquired knowledge, skills, graduates are able to find the application and competence to perform the future profession (to define some):

2. Professional Officer/Employment Officer

3. Clinical social worker/clinical social worker

4. Clinical Social Worker/Crisis Social Worker

5. Other employment:

In the labour market, graduates of the doctoral programme in Social Work find employment in practice in various sectors of the social sphere, the Ministry of the Interior, Justice, the prison system,

in probation and mediation services, in the corporate sphere, in the field of public administration and activities of non-state entities. Examples include:

Social services institutions, SV and R Labour Offices, municipal and city authorities, self-governing regions, UVTOS of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Slovak Republic, asylum facilities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Slovak Republic, Migration Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Slovak Republic, health care institutions, school educational institutions, special educational institutions, school educational counselling and prevention institutions, special purpose school institutions,

non-profit sector.

Conditions of admission

The candidate is a graduate of a 2nd master's degree in social work and other interdisciplinary or transdisciplinary related fields. He/she has the ability to independently formulate a scientific problem, to bring his/her own solutions to problems resulting in new knowledge about the subject of research, and to apply his/her expertise in educational practice. He/she is able to creatively develop the methodology existing within his/her area of specialisation. Has an adequate level of proficiency in at least one foreign language.

The candidate must have passed the entrance examination.

.The entrance examination consists of the following parts:

1. oral presentation and discussion of the submitted dissertation project. In the debate

to the project, they will demonstrate the prerequisites for scholarly work, including a good orientation in

foreign and domestic scholarly production (the candidate is applying on one of the topics

dissertations announced by the faculty and published on the faculty's website

at least two months before the date of the admission procedure)

2. Demonstration of knowledge of the required master's degree, the extent of which is assessed

and depth of literature studied and the prerequisites for the 3rd degree;

3. language examination in one non-Slavic language - the applicant shall demonstrate the ability to

communicate in at least one non-Slavic language (or prove by state examination

of a foreign (world) language); the foreign language examination is in written form with

focusing on the translation of a professional paper on the subject of study

programme.

Computer literacy is also a prerequisite (Word, Excel, Power Point,

Internet).

Publication activity and other factors worthy of consideration are included in the final evaluation - work experience, connection to a national or international project, study stays abroad, placement in faculty and national competitions of the SVOUČ, the Rector's commendation and/or the Dean's commendation for the bachelor's thesis, diploma thesis, or outstanding results during the studies, successful participation in competitions related to the relevant study programme, work in a civic association.

Applicants are admitted to a predetermined number of places by the dean in a given form of study. The entrance examination is held before a committee - the composition of which is proposed by the departmental committee and approved by the dean of the faculty.

An admitted candidate becomes a student of doctoral studies on the day of enrolment, the date of which is determined by the Dean.

General information on the admission exam

The admission procedure for a candidate begins with the delivery of his/her electronically completed application form to the Faculty of Education.

The applicant submits his/her application for university studies electronically via the academic information system AIS2 and at the same time in printed form together with other attachments. The application form and a detailed description of how to complete it electronically can be found on the www.fedu.uniba.sk website. After uploading the electronic application form into the system, the applicant prints it, signs it and sends it with the required attachments ( http://www.fedu.uniba.sk/index.php?id=3472 ) by post to the address of the Department of Science and Doctoral Studies of the Charles University Faculty of Arts. Only a correctly filled in, signed by the applicant and delivered by the deadline will the application form be officially registered.

Fee for admission procedure, the applicant shall pay by bank transfer on the basis of the payment order which is part of the online application form and generated by the applicant in AiS. The applicant is obliged to provide all the required data (including the specific symbol) and enter his/her name and surname in the message to the recipient; a copy of the proof of payment (bank transfer slip or bank confirmation of the transfer) is a mandatory attachment to the application form. Without the required confirmation of payment of the fee, the application will not be registered.
