WHAT IS OUR PSYCHOLOGY?

We specialize in applied psychology, that is, solution-focused psychology practical problems. Most of our graduates work in areas such as HR, human resources, marketing or management. However, many of them are are also involved in research or other areas. All of us who lecture here have other activities and we try to put students in touch with practice. Our classes we invite practitioners and send students to practice where they can learn something. Our approach has been successful: recruiters from large companies have repeatedly tell us that they prefer our graduates to graduates from other schools. They know that they graduated from a field that really gave them something.

The graduate of the first degree of university studies of the study programme Social and Occupational Psychology will acquire the basic spectrum of knowledge from psychology and related scientific disciplines, which complete its interdisciplinary knowledge base. In doing so, he/she will acquire knowledge of the nature, process and possibility of regulating social phenomena that actually occur at the level of individuals, micro-environments (groups and teams) and macro-environments (organisations, society). The content of the study, the scope of knowledge required for its completion and the method of study with emphasis on the acquisition of basic theoretical knowledge and the application procedures that follow from it guarantee the graduate's success in practice, especially in the sphere of work to which the study is focused.

Theoretical knowledgeThe graduate of the first degree of university study acquires the knowledge necessary for general orientation in the field. He/she will acquire basic theoretical knowledge from theoretical psychological disciplines, elementary knowledge from psychological application disciplines, with an increased orientation towards social, organizational and occupational psychology. Gain knowledge of psychological diagnostics and methodology (basics of quantitative and qualitative approaches in psychological research). As part of a broader foundation, the student will acquire knowledge of philosophy, anthropology, sociology, economics, and will be able to use them in his/her work. He/she will learn and be able to apply the methodological principles and procedures of rigorous psychological research.

Practical and additional skills During the Bachelor's studies the graduate will acquire skills that will enable him/her to work independently in the sphere of research and practice, to carry out analyses of social phenomena and processes, and to draw conclusions and recommendations for the optimization of the observed phenomena. The student will be able to interact effectively with the professional and lay public and thus contribute to the formation of relationships between participants in social interaction. He/she will be able to shape the personal development paths of employees (building personal careers) and create the conditions for organisational development. Can actively develop positive forms of social behaviour, lead trainings for the development of social competences and conflict resolution skills. He/she will be professionally and socially mature to work in national and multinational structures and able to motivate these teams to work effectively. He/she will be prepared to work in the environment of international organisations, focused on solving problems of international relations, integration processes, social conflicts, negotiation processes, social deviations, cooperation and coexistence of ethnic groups. He/she will be eligible to join the HR departments of organisations and participate in the implementation of their HR policies and human resource development strategies.
