Regional Development and Policies of the EU
Graduates in the study programme Regional Development and Policies of the EU are able to systematize and analyze current problems of public administration, they have basic knowledge of legislative part of public administration, and can use methods and techniques of analysis of factual problems and management methods applied in public administration. Graduates in this study programme are able to use an appropriate information database, PC, theory and practical analytical tools for information processing and preparation of land use plans and social and economic development programmes as support material for planning and decision-making processes at higher management level. They can use analytical tools for country structure planning including spatial economic structure, process and explain results professionally and suggest partial solutions.
Prospects of graduates
Graduates in this field of study can work at managerial positions of central, regional and local institutions of general and specialized public administration and non-profit sector, as well as the private sector focusing on the development of tourism.
They are ready to mobilize and lead interdisciplinary teams in both non-profit sector and regional development agencies. They can also work in research institutions and be involved in the teaching process at universities and secondary schools.

BASIC CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION FOR STUDY
Pursuant to § 56 (sec. 1) of the Act No. 131/2002 Coll., the essential condition for admission to Bachelor study is completion of either full secondary education or full secondary vocational education.
ADDITIONAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
- Applicants will be ranked according to the results of the school-leaving examination.
- Applicants for study programmes carried out in a combination of Slovak and English language need to submit a verified copy of their English language certificate (CEFR B2 or at least 5.5 overall score of the IELTS) to the following address: Študijné oddelenie FEŠRR SPU v Nitre, Monika Gajdošová, Tr. A. Hlinku 2, 949 76 Nitra. In case the applicant is not a holder of the language proficiency certificate, the applicant has the right to request the Deans office for an opportunity to demonstrate their language abilities before the entrance examination takes place via personal interview, i.e. via SKYPE no later than 10 calendar days before the entrance examination.

Requirements for admission to study
- It is possible to apply for two study programmes per form of study per application form within one application fee,
- the faculty accepts applicants for studies (without an entrance examination and without a personal interview) on the basis of the results of the school-leaving examination,
- applicants will submit a certified copy of the graduation certificate as soon as possible to the Study Department of the FESRD to the following address: Study Department of the FESRD SPU in Nitra, Monika Gajdošová, Tr. A. Hlinku 2, 949 76 Nitra,
- the proof of payment for the admission procedure fee needs to be submitted as an attachment to the electronic application,
- after the admission procedure, the applicant will receive official results of the admission procedure within 30 days from the verification of the fulfilment of the conditions for admission to study. Applicant who does not meet the condition (high school diploma) at the time of the meeting of the admissions committee will be accepted conditionally,
- Applicants admitted to any study programme need to confirm whether they will or will not enroll in accordance with the instructions that they have received together with the decision on admission (electronic pre-enrollment confirmations is part of the Decision),
- Applicants’ personal data (first name, surname, personal identification number, address, etc.) will be used in compliance with the Act on protection of personal data and exclusively for the purposes of the admission procedure and shall not be used for any other purposes,
- The dean may also accept the results of the admission procedure conducted at other faculties of the SUA in Nitra, i.e. other universities,
- The dean may offer an applicant who has not been placed on the list of addmitted applicants for the particular study programme the possibility of admission to an alternative programme with a lower number of applicants,
- The Faculty reserves the right not to open a particular study programme in full-time and/or part-time form, which has been applied for by a small number of applicants. In this case, the faculty offers to applicant another accredited study programme. If applicant is not interested in studying an alternative study programme, the application including all of its attachments, as well as the admission procedure fee, shall be returned to the applicant.
Conditions for international students
Applicants who have completed any previous university studies abroad are required to submit the Decision on Recognition of a Proof of Completed Education no later than on the date of registration to the 1st year of the Bachelor studies. The document (confirmation/nostrification paper) is issued by a District Office (department of education) in the SR in the district either of the place of applicant’s residence or where the seat of the Faculty is located in case the applicant is not granted residence in the Slovak Republic.

Foreign applicants for study from the member states of the European Union or states that are parties to the Agreement on the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation or citizens who have been granted permanent resident status in the partner state are admitted under the same conditions as citizens of the Slovak Republic. Foreign applicants from other countries can apply to study in Slovak language on the basis of international agreements after successfully completing language training at the Institute of Language and Vocational Training, UK in Bratislava. In case the applicant is not a holder of the language proficiency certificate, the applicant has the right to request the Deans office for an opportunity to demonstrate their language abilities before the entrance examination takes place via personal interview, i.e. via SKYPE no later than 10 calendar days before the entrance examination.
