Regional Development and Policies of the EU

Graduates in the study programme Regional Development and Policies of the EU are able to systematize and analyze current problems of public administration, they have basic knowledge of legislative part of public administration, and can use methods and techniques of analysis of factual problems and management methods applied in public administration. Graduates in this study programme are able to use an appropriate information database, PC, theory and practical analytical tools for information processing and preparation of land use plans and social and economic development programmes as support material for planning and decision-making processes at higher management level. They can use analytical tools for country structure planning including spatial economic structure, process and explain results professionally and suggest partial solutions.

 



Prospects of graduates

Graduates in this field of study can work at managerial positions of central, regional and local institutions of general and specialized public administration and non-profit sector, as well as the private sector focusing on the development of tourism.

They are ready to mobilize and lead interdisciplinary teams in both non-profit sector and regional development agencies. They can also work in research institutions and be involved in the teaching process at universities and secondary schools.

Conditions of admission
  •  BASIC CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION TO STUDY

According to Section 56, Paragraph 1 of Act No. 131/2002 Coll., as amended, the basic condition for admission to Bachelor's studies is the acquisition of complete secondary or complete secondary vocational education.

 

OTHER CONDITIONS FOR ADMISSION TO STUDY

Applicants will be ranked according to the results achieved in the school-leaving examination.

• the result of the school-leaving examination (max. 80 points for an average of 1.00, or 0 points for an average worse than 3.01),

• state exam in a foreign language (or equivalent to a state exam) – 20 points (not mandatory).

For a study program conducted in a combination of English and Slovak languages, applicants shall send a certified copy of the English language certificate (according to CEFR at level B2 or according to IELTS at least 5.5) to the address: Study Department of FESRD SUA in Nitra, Monika Gajdošová, Tr. A. Hlinku 2, 949 76 Nitra. In the event that the applicant does not prove language competence with a certificate, he or she has the right to request the Dean's Office to allow the demonstration of language competence by personal interview or via SKYPE interview no later than 10 calendar days before the admission procedure

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE ADMISSION PROCEDURE

  • It is possible to apply for two study programs in one form of study within one admission procedure fee on one application form,
  • The faculty admits applicants for study without an entrance examination and without a personal interview, based on the results achieved in the school-leaving examination,
  • Applicants for study shall upload to the UIS (attach to the electronic application form) a CV and a copy of the school-leaving certificate, proof of payment of the fee for material support of the admission procedure,
  • A certified copy of the school-leaving certificate shall be sent to the Study Department of FESRD at the following address:

After the admission procedure, the applicant shall receive a decision on the result of the admission procedure within 30 days of verification of compliance with the conditions for admission to study. An applicant who does not meet the condition (high school diploma) at the time of the admissions committee meeting may be conditionally accepted,

  • an applicant who will be accepted to study a study program is obliged to provide information to the faculty whether he/she will enroll in the study according to the instructions he/she will receive in writing together with the admission decision (e-return is part of the decision),
  • the applicant's personal data (name, surname, birth number, address, etc.) will be used in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act No. 18/2018 Coll. only for the needs of the admissions procedure and may not be provided for other purposes.
  • the dean may accept the results of the admissions procedure at other faculties of SUA in Nitra, or other universities,
  • the dean may offer applicants who were not placed on the waiting list for the applied study program the possibility of admission to an alternative program with a lower number of applicants,
  • the faculty reserves the right not to open a study program in full-time or part-time form for which a low number of applicants apply. In such a case, the faculty will offer the applicant another accredited study program. If the applicant is not interested in studying in the alternative study program, the application for study with all attachments, as well as the admission fee, will be returned to the applicant.

Conditions for international students

INFORMATION FOR FOREIGN APPLICANTS

Foreign applicants, or applicants who have completed their secondary school leaving examination abroad, are required to attach, in addition to the mandatory attachments, to the application form or Application Form (http://www.uniag.sk/en/admission-requirements/), also the Decision on the recognition of a document of education. The decision on the recognition of a document of education is issued by the relevant Regional Office of the School Administration according to the applicant's place of permanent residence. The procedure for processing the above documents is provided on the website of the Ministry of Education, Research, Development and Youth of the Slovak Republic https://www.minedu.sk/uznavanie-ukoncenohe-vzdelania-na-zakladnych-a-strednych-skolach/. In the case of a foreign applicant without a residence permit in the Slovak Republic, the decision is issued by the Regional Office of the School Administration in Nitra, J. Vuruma 1, 949 01 Nitra Application for the recognition of a document of education.

Foreign applicants (except for applicants from the Czech Republic and applicants who have passed the Slovak language matriculation examination) who apply for a study program provided at SUA in Nitra in the Slovak language must complete an online test and an online oral interview aimed at determining the level of their language proficiency in the Slovak language. Testing is provided by the SUA Language Center in Nitra (https://cj.uniag.sk/sk/domov/) on two dates, which applicants will be informed about in advance.

After completing the language exam, the applicant will be issued a certificate of the summary result of the online test and online interview, which will correspond to the language level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The test and certificate are charged €30. If the applicant's language proficiency level is lower than A1, the applicant will not be admitted to the study.

If the applicant's language proficiency level is A1, the applicant has met one of the admission requirements for the study, but will be required to complete a 30-hour paid Slovak language course organized by the Language Center of SUA in Nitra (course fee: €120). The course will take place from August 25, 2025 to September 5, 2025. After completing the course, the applicant will be issued a certificate of completion.

If the applicant's language proficiency level is A2 or higher, the applicant has met one of the admission requirements and will be admitted to the study.
