Conditions of admission

The basic condition of admission for the study in the second level study programme (for Master study programme) is completion of the first level study programme (Bachelor study programme). The required document proving this fact is a copy of the first level university education diploma verified by a notary.

For the opened Master study programmes the applicants without the execution of an entrance exam will be accepted according to the order drawn up based on the value of the achieved weighted study average in the Bachelor study. The weighted study average in case of single-field study programmes of ethnology, philosophy, history, culturology, musicology, politology and religionistics is calculated from the courses of the Bachelor programme attended by the applicant including by the winter term of the last year of the Bachelor study. In case of other opened study programmes the weighted study average is calculated from the attended courses specified in Annex No. 2 of the Rules of the Admission Procedure (on the faculty website) constituting the basis of the Bachelor study programme that the Master study programme is built on. If the applicant did not attend any of the courses specified in Annex No. 2 of these rules, this course is evaluated with the classification level Fx in the weighted study average.



Conditions for international students

The conditions of admission of foreign students are the same as the conditions of admission of citizens of the Slovak Republic, except for foreigners – self-payers where the admission procedure may have the form of entrance colloquium, performed by the competent department or departments. Tuition for foreigners - self-payers is EUR 2,500 for an academic year.

General information on the admission exam

The admission procedure starts by submitting university study application. The applicant submits an application for the Master level of university study on an official application form (form in A 3 format- as a double sheet).

The applicant may submit only one  application form for Master study at the Faculty of Arts CU and may within it may apply for only one opened study programme. The faculty does not provide the form for university study application. The form is available on the website of the Ministry of Education SR and the Faculty of Arts CU.

The fee for admission shall be paid by the participants by money order of type U to the address of the faculty of in the form of bank transfer.  The payment confirmation is the  copy of the slip on payment of the fee, or confirmation of the bank on transfer execution (we do not accept mail confirmation from internet banking). The confirmation must be stuck on page 3 of the application. Without payment confirmation of the fee for the admission procedure the application of the applicant will not be registered.

An aliquot part of the fee may be returned to those applicants that cancel the application in the term by 30 April, 2010 (EUR 26).

The graduate of the Bachelor study programme of study is admitted to the Faculty of Arts CU to the follow-up Master programme of study in the same of related field of study Therefore it is necessary that the applicant determines in the application the study programme or study field in which he/she acquired (or by the term of the entrance examination shall acquire) university education of first level and encloses to the application an extract of the performed study obligations, or an appendix to the diploma (an extract shall not be filed by the graduates from the Faculty of Arts CU from year 2010). The accepted related study fields for the individual opened study programmes are included in the rules of the admission procedure (Annex No. 1) - published on the faculty website..
