Graduates of the Master's degree programme, field of study law:
The Master's degree programme fully reflects the areas and scope of knowledge, skills and competences that profile the graduate of the second degree study programme in accordance with the relevant level of the National Qualification Framework set out in the Annex to the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Slovak Republic No. 244/2019 Coll. on the system of study disciplines of the Slovak Republic: SKKR 7.
Master's studies are intended for students who have obtained a first degree in an accredited field of study in law. Taking into account the study field of law, full profiling towards the performance of indicated - state professions can be achieved by completing the bachelor's and master's degree programmes, which are closely related to each other.
Within the framework of the educational objectives, the graduate of the master's degree will acquire profound knowledge of individual branches of public and private law (civil procedural law, criminal procedural law, European law, labour law, financial law, intellectual property law, etc.), as well as knowledge of the value anchoring of law (legal philosophy), its practical and theoretical meaning and purpose, and its functioning in the practice of law creation, implementation and application (legal methodology).On the basis of the knowledge, skills and competences acquired and mastered in the Bachelor's studies, the graduate develops, structures and deepens the knowledge of the substantive branches of law, the theory and history of the state and law, the ethics of law, the philosophy and methodology of law, and masters the norms of criminal, civil and administrative procedural law. He/she perceives the interdisciplinary connections and the intersectoral overlap of legal institutions and is able to use this broader knowledge in legal practice when solving legal-application problems.
Has developed skills of orientation in the national legal system, in the EU legal system and in international law, and the ability to work actively with judicial decisions of national and supranational level. The graduate is oriented in legal doctrine and can evaluate its views in legal-historical, legal-theoretical and legal-philosophical contexts. He/she has developed the ability to think abstractly and the ability to carry out more complex analysis of legal and juristic texts, as well as the ability to formulate his/her own synthetic conclusions in solving complex concrete legal problems, the so-called hard cases. The graduate works with more complex interpretive techniques and has developed the ability of formalized argumentation in both legal science and legal practice. The graduate has a command of more complex legal and legal terminology, complicated legal-theoretical, legal-dogmatic (doctrinal) and legal-philosophical language. The acquired competences of working with legal and legal text are actively used in the preparation of legal submissions and legal opinions, both in oral and written form. The graduate masters the principles and standards of drafting normative legal text, internal regulations, as well as scientific and professional legal text, taking into account the requirements of respect for copyright, academic integrity and the ethics of scientific work. The graduate has developed social skills of working in a team, can think critically in more complex contexts, evaluate and solve the most complex legal problems. The skills and competences acquired during the studies enable the graduate to link knowledge from different branches of law with a deeper reassessment of the values and ethical dimension of working within the legal professions. The skills and competences are further transferable and enable the graduate to continue to develop continuously on the basis of them.

Completion of Bachelor degree Law major is a principal condition of admission to the Master degree course ("Mgr.“).
Conditions for international students
The conditions of admission of foreigners, foreign students or students who have completed their studies abroad are the same as the conditions of admission of students who have completed a bachelor's degree programme in law in the Slovak Republic and are citizens of the Slovak Republic. These applicants shall submit a recognised document of education in accordance with Act No 422/2015 Coll. on the recognition of documents of education and on the recognition of professional qualifications and on the amendment and supplementation of certain acts.
Those applicants who have not passed the matriculation examination in Slovak or Czech must also pass a test in Slovak language prepared by the faculty as part of the admission procedure.
