Midwifery
Midwives are entitled to practice the medical profession of midwife in inpatient
healthcare facilities and specialized outpatient care for mother and child.
They can practice independent practice in midwifery within the framework of the current legislative regulations.
A graduate, after fulfilling the statutory practice requirements, has the prerequisites for continuing in higher levels of education of the study program and in further education (specialization studies and certification training).

- for full-time study:
- a completed and signed application form with the required attachments and the proof of the paid admission fee,
- successful completion of a full secondary education or a full secondary vocational education,
- successful completion of the entrance examination.
Additional information
The Faculty of Nursing and Professional Health Studies of the Slovak Medical University in Bratislava reserves the right not to open bachelor and master study programmes in case of a lower number of applicants than the planned number.
It also reserves the right not to open any of these study programmes for other serious reasons.

- a separate application must be submitted for each study programme,
- you must register your application electronically via the MAIS academic information system at https://mais.szu.sk/eprihlaska (Mozilla Firefox browser) and subsequently send the printed application form with the required attachments by post,
The application form must be accompanied by:
- matriculation certificate - photocopy certified by a notary or registry office,
- a brief curriculum vitae,
- doctor's certificate of health - on the application form or a separate document,
- applicants who are graduating this academic year will submit their matriculation certificate (certified copy) on the day of the entrance exam,
- if an applicant wishes to apply for more than one study programme at the University, he/she must submit a separate application for each study programme separately and pay the application fee for each application separately.
- Only the candidate who submits a duly filled application form, attaches all the required enclosures and pays the fee within the stipulated deadline will be invited to the entrance exam.
The candidate shall not send end of year certificates, various diplomas, certificates and certificates with the application form, they shall not be considered in the admission process.
