Organic chemistry
Graduates of the Organic Chemistry master's degree program understand in depth the theories, methods, and procedures of chemistry studied. He/she is a specialist chemist in organic chemistry. Graduates of the second cycle of the Organic Chemistry undergraduate degree can carry out organic syntheses, separate and purify products, identify their structure using spectral methods, and independently carry out research in organic chemistry.
The graduate can independently and creatively use specialized conceptual apparatus and methods of organic chemistry. They can work with a personal computer, the basics of chemical informatics, work with organic databases, the basics of molecular modelling.
The graduate is also able to assist in teaching specialized chemistry courses at universities and to conduct research with a high degree of creativity and independence. The theoretical and practical knowledge acquired enables him/her to manage teams of technical staff and undergraduate chemistry graduates and to take responsibility for complex solutions. Graduates can apply themselves in a wide range of organic chemistry applications with links to medicinal and pharmaceutical chemistry, materials and environmental chemistry, applying advanced methods and techniques of scientific research.
The interdisciplinary nature of organic chemistry gives graduates of this field of study great opportunities for employment in a variety of specializations on a global scale.
A significant number of graduates will continue their studies at the 3rd level (doctoral studies to obtain the PhD degree) in the field of organic chemistry.
