Metrology

Graduates have profound theoretical knowledge in the area of natural sciences related with their scientific work in the area of metrology, measurement theory, metering equipment and systems, design and management of experiments, processing of results of measurements. They Master scientific methods of research and development. They are able to design and develop methods of measuring, methods of calibration and verification of meters, develop and apply theoretical knowledge when realising metering units, use scientific methods of designing experiments with a special focus on calibration, verification of meters and relationship of measurements, they can scientifically study and develop methods of evaluating measurements and process measured data. They are able to work on complex experimental equipment, prepare and present reports on the results of research. They Master the methods of pedagogical work, relationships of research - development - production - use, ethical and social aspects of scientific work.

Conditions of admission

Applicants for Doctoral studies must have completed university education of the second degree (Ing., Mgr.). In case of part-time form of studies, 2 years of praxis following university studies are required.



Additional information

The application must include:

document about graduating from Enginineering/Master studies of relevant or related study field (programme),

verified copy of Enginineering/Master diploma,

verified copy of state exam report certificate,

verified copy of addendum to university diploma or record of passed subjects including credit evaluation assigned,

structured CV,

document on the passed internship,

original of the receipt confirming the payment of the manipulation fee of €30.

Incomplete application forms will be excluded from the admission procedure.

Form of entrance exam

Part of the admission procedure are the entrance exams with the following framework content:

evaluation of study results of the Enginineering/Master studies of relevant or related study field (programme),

evaluation of participation of the applicant in scientific and research activity,

verifying motivation of the applicant for scientific work,

test from one world language,

verifying the knowledge from the given field and discussed topics.

Further conditions of admission to Doctoral studies at the Faculty of Mechanical Enginineering of the Slovak University of Technology in the academic year of 2010-2011 are indicated in the Guideline No. 2 / 2009 of the dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Enginineering of the Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
